Apologies if this has already been done.

I'm looking to go to Catalan away next year with my wife and son

Are there any organised trips or do people arrange travel on an individual basis?

that's a good question mate. I would like to go too but would like a trip that is better than the cheap deal trip that many seem to go on.

Personally I don't want to stay in a 2 star hotel and be on the lash, and would maybe like to spend 3 nights there but options seem limited.

Do Ryanair Stansted direct to Perpignan, ballache this side but no car hire needed at the other end, just a 10 minute taxi ride to the centre.

Can recommend Quality Hotel Centre del Mon - right near the station, also Suite Novotel Perpignan Mediterranee, a bit more central. Loads of great tapas bars/restaurants round the Castillet and main square areas.

If staying a couple of days, the train to Collioure is 20 minutes and really picturesque, good food and winding backstreets with little shops, plus you can walk up to the fort through vineyards for scenic views over the whole bay.

Avoid loret like tge plague! Its a dump

We go to santa susanna, quiter but still enough to do to keep you entertained, train only 45 minutes to barcelona, if taking kids waterworld is fantastic fun for the day
