Sky football coverage is getting to be unwatchable at the moment. Why have so many former Liverpool players all the time? Redknapp was an embarassment in the City/Everton game and just as bad tonight. The draw was a farce as well, Redknapp being as careful as he could be with the cube and getting an obvious look of distain from Souness when he pulled Chelsea out of the bag. Poor Jamie looked like he wanted to put it back in. They need to get rid of the LFC bias in the media. Hansen was okay, Redknapp presents well but when it comes to analysis he's one eyed and as bad as Phil Clarke. What on earth does Jamie Carragher add to Sky coverage bar a horrific accent? He's thick, speaks poorly and offers nothing. Even his obvious hatred of Gary Neville is becoming boring now.
I just saw that clip of the draw, absolutely hilarious. It's alright though, regarding the coverage, they'll have Thierry Henry next season to mix it up, leaving us just one short of a ''Big 4'' full-house... With the amount of disdain that they show for 'ordinary' clubs, Sky will pretty much be pushing for a break-away league in a few years, where the ''big 4' + Man City will play each other every week, and the rest can get f**ked.
United's current winning streak should be a great encouragement for everybody else in the league - If a side as poor as United can string 6 wins together, then anybody can.
If Liverpool had any sort of striker, they would have battered United - I don't know about Van Gaal being a top coach, but he definitely has his fair share of good fortune. I can't recall any side which has made it to third in the league, while consistently being second best in most of the games they play, as much as United have this season.
I have to say DeGea is turning into a truly top class keeper though - He will certainly fetch United some decent cash when Madrid sign him in the summer.
yeah, we're third through sheer luck. Refreshing to see we're not great anymore yet the bitterness and jealousy still pours from some.

'Bitterness and jealousy'??....
To be honest, I don't give two hoots for United - I am old enough to remember their long spell of mediocrity and even their hilarious relegation in the 70's, so when I hear folk spout about how great they are, or were, it always makes me giggle.
My post was simply pointing out that apart from Chelsea and Man City, who are a massive way clear of the rest in terms of footballing quality, the rest of the league is awash with very average teams and that ANY other side, with some consistent form and a healthy slice of luck, could put a run together that could drag them into Champions League contention.
Even the most ardent United fans must be scratching their heads and wondering how this present side somehow find themselves in third place?
Welcome back to the football chat thread. Youve been MIA since Manchester United became rubbish, but now they have managed to hit the lofty heights of third, I notice you are back. Whilst you are here, what do you make of Falcao telling anyone that will listen how he would love to stay on £250k a week for life at manchester united?

Stevie G off at the end of the season for Liverpool - does anyone really care with the age that he's at?
Had to carry the team again this year since the sale of Suarez, so who will pick that up next season? Genuine question - will Liverpool fade away even more so without him?
Given his transfer dealings i can't wait to see who Rodgers will try and sign to replace Gerrard.
Would he dare a bid on Barkley?!...or hope Henderson will step up?
As an Evertonian, if Liverpool were daft enough to offer the crazy figures quoted for Barkley in the media, (40 to 50 million), then I'd happily hand him over.
It will take a lot more than Barkley to replace Gerrard - Liverpool should have bit the bullet and paid the cash for Alexis Sanchez, as its only a player of his calibre who will be able to replace Gerrard's huge influence.

Barkley for me is on a far higher level to Gerrard, in terms of talent he's vastly superior.
I think the main problem for Ross at the moment, apart from Everton's awful form, is the Premier League. You put Barkley into the a Barca/Real/Bayern side and he'd be unstoppable. In terms of natural ability there has been no one like Barkley in England since Gascoigne.

Always need a laugh on a dull Wednesday morning, so thanks for that!
