Salford best 17 for 2015 : Wed Oct 15, 2014 7:00 am  

Ok i know there might be a few more coming in and also a few heading out the door but at the moment what would your first 17 be?

This would be mine;

1. Locke
2. Johnson
3. Sau
4. J.Griffin
5. BJB
6. Chase
7. Dobson
8. Morley
9. Fages - I know somebody will say he shouldn't play here but looking at our depth of hookers i'd say he's must to be kept involved
10. Tasi
11. Hauraki
12. Hansen (c)
13. Hock

14. Hood
15. D.Griffin
16. Puletua
17. J. Walne

That still leaves players such as Rapira, MCB, Evalds, Lee, A. Walne, Forster, England, Groat, Walton, Menzies, G.Griffin, Owen, Dixon & Ford as cover. Looking a very strong squad if i do say so myself, i think with the squad size Puletua & Morley will be used more sparingly. I don't really know much about Forster, Menzies & Groat but i reckon they could be used in certain games to give the likes of Puletua & Morley a rest.

Yes MCB and Josh Griffin was a tough one for me, but reckon Josh will just get the nod as defensively he's better also i see MCB as a winger. Not seen much of Forster and i like D.Griffin he's a proper pro. I noticed we left Tommy Lee out of the 17 think we need the speed round the ruck. Although Lee is more then good enough to cover numerous positions!

yeah, I'd go for that team. might swop one of the subs for Josh Griffin. The backs pick themselves, there is more mixing with the forwards. looking forward to a GOOD season

Lee is still here as far as i was concerned! Contracted until 2015

I can't see Groat coming over to sit in the stands. I don't think Rapira will be back for some reason. I agree with Fages at hooker, something I've been saying for a few seasons (Even when voices of derision were pouring down) Can see Griffin getting the nod over Morley due to using Morley more sparingly next season. Got quite a lot of depth and cover already which is nice, and we'll probably have the youngest squad in SL. So that'll be one less excuse on the bingo card.

I think Tasi & D.Griffin will be our 2 main props next season with Morley, Puletua coming in for the big games. And a rotation of A.Walne, Groat, Forster & Menzies unless there performing at a high level which may see them being regulars. All in all it's not a bad problem to have. I reckon you could be correct about Rapira and even so i can't see him making the 17.
