I think that there are better things to be prioritising taxes on right at this minute. Is Ponte A+E not an issue? Are public transport stations, for the most part, not a bit of a joke and in dire need of improvement? Are the roads not a state? They certainly are where I've been and the amount of potholes are becoming ridiculous. Sorry but now you're just being silly to portray me in a bad light. And this could really be classified as harassment.
As I've already mentioned anyway, that is the responsibility of WDCT/whoever owns it.
Your motives are clear when you say things like 'I expect all Cas fans to do something about it'. Why are you only calling for Cas fans to oppose this?
I think that there are better things to be prioritising taxes on right at this minute, just as I wouldn't think it would be right if you lot were paying in any way more than what is already agreed for the Cas stadium. As I've already mentioned anyway, that is the responsibility of WDCT/whoever owns it (and this is something I've said on one of the other threads on the Cas RLFans page in the last few days too and was agreed with by I_A). Anyway, back on topic, I would suggest.
If your called hudds tiger why do you pay your council tax to Wakefield council, do you work anyway, why are WMDC paying for maintenance on Newmarket community stadium I must have missed that bit
"Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"
"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League"

If the Council do put any money towards upkeep I expect all Cas fans to do something about it - I don't want MY taxes going towards things like that when the roads are a joke, Pontefract Hospital is struggling to make ends meet and other things need prioritising.[/quote]

He likes to portray himself as the voice of reason, but (if it is the same person) in reality he seems quite devious.
What he is saying is that the Wakefield rate payers should not pay for maintenance of the stadium part of the development and I would think that the Wakey ratepayers would agree. How is that devious?

I used to live in Huddersfield.
They're not, that's why I said they're not. I then went on to say if they did I wouldn't be happy and I would expect all Cas fans to be the same. I then went on to list a number of things in the local area (that affect Cas fans) that needed prioritising. I aimed it at Cas fans as it's a Cas forum although I would say that to anyone right now, with WMDC having to cut back like all councils, stadia are probably not their priority. Hope that all helps and ends this little facade that you've got going.

He doesn't say Wakefield rate payers, he specifically says 'Cas fans'.

Because it's a Cas forum aimed at Cas fans, not Wakefield ratepayers.
Well I live in Wakefield and I'm happy if my taxes help with the new stadium. Put whatever spin on it you want, but you're itching for Newmarket to fail.

Exactly. So if I billeted on here, as WMDC ratepayers, you'd have a good old whinge about that. Therefore, that's why I aimed it at Cas fans on a Cas forum.
This has nothing to do with Newmarket failing. IIRC, I was actually talking about upkeep of a Newmarket Stadium, which if I'm right implies it will be built.
Many of my friends are out of work, I believe like many others that Ponte hospital needs sorting out and I use public transport to and from work every day of the week. I also drive a lot and use public roads. These are all priorities when it comes to the Council Tax being spent in the local area. I'd have thought you would have agreed?
