Leigh Centurions are pleased to confirm that they have finalised their pre-season friendly fixtures in preparation for the start of the 2015 Kingstone Press Championship campaign.Leigh Centurions will play Keighley Cougars on Sunday 1 February 2015 at Leigh Sports Village (3pm).
Ticket prices are as follows: Adults £10, Concessions £8, Under-16s £5, Under-12s free (when accompanied by an adult).
For all friendly games at LSV in 2015 both the North Stand and West Stand will be open to spectators. The Club recognised that many of its core supporters prefer to stand on the North Stand at all games.
This will be the Centurions’ third friendly fixture as they prepare for their eagerly awaited Kingstone Press Championship opener against Bradford Bulls on Sunday 15 February 2015 (3pm).
They will play Wigan Warriors in the ‘Battle of the Borough’ as part of the Paul Prescott Testimonial on Sunday 18 January 2015 (3pm) at LSV.
The following Sunday 25 January they entertain North Wales Crusaders at LSV (3pm).
The week following the Keighley game they entertain Oldham at LSV on Sunday 8 February 2015 (3pm).
The Kingstone Press Championship season opener sees Leigh Centurions entertain Bradford Bulls at LSV on Sunday 15 February (3pm).
Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont said: “I am pleased to have filled our calendar with four friendlies to give our boys much needed game-time. This fixture with Keighley is a prime date in terms of preparation for Bradford and I am sure Rolls (Head Coach Paul Rowley) will start to see where he is heading by this point in terms of the team he wants to field.
“Keighley Coach Paul March always has his team up for a game. He knows no other way and I remember only too well how close they came to upsetting us early in the season at Cougar Park when we seemed to be flying high. Keighley themselves were unfortunate as we know to have been relegated and will be keen to impress on the other clubs what they are capable of. It has proved difficult to schedule friendlies this year and I hope our loyal supporters use them as an opportunity to not only see the new signings but see how our existing boys have progressed.”
