Swift's a fine winger. Good pace, excellent acceleration, deceptively strong, superb footwork and is a high class finisher. His only weakness is his defensive reads, which is why he was dropped. Since coming back, he's looked fine in that regard.

Agree with the chap earlier regarding Jones - never a centre. He can't pass for a start.

Was you at Castleford away last year :?: Then you can see Josh can pass :NAUGHTY:

I think Jones is very capable of passing, He just chooses not to. He needs to be coached by a good wingers centre with regards to drawing a man in and timing his pass to the winger. He also has a habit of running at the man and not the gap.

His one decent showing in the centre all season.

He simply is never a threequarter. He has none of the qualities of a good centre. As a back rower, he could have a productive future, as a centre he'll end up in the championship.

I like Josh jones. He's a good hard working tough kid but I'm not sure what his best position is.

I don't think he's kicked on how we all expected but maybe he was to good for his own good at such a young age.

I agree, Josh had stagnated in his development last season, he had a bit a mix of performances just a few good games and quite a few average ones which meant he could,t command a settled starting position. He has problems in his decision making in attack and defence which has a knock on effect with his winger which is Swift.
Percival with Makinson and Turner with Swift is the best option for me, with Josh covering for any injuries to any of our centres. When Walsh returns with Burns then Josh does,t make my 17 as Lance can cover for every back position.

He had a spell of 4/5 games on bounce when he was excellent but then died off. I think both swift and Tommy would suffer in attack outside jones so I'd go with Percy and Turner in the centre.

Jones could make a second row spot his own if he gets his form back.

He is your typical big kid that bursts through. Too big and dominant for the youth teams, then goes through a period of struggle as he realises he is at his size now. Should settle down in the next season or two.

Jones is a good player to have.

He stagnated a bit last season but came good towards the end. I thought he was excellent in the Grand Final and he made a key try saver on Josh Charnley at one point.

He'll never be a world beater but he can play well both at Centre and in the back row and versatility is pretty important in the modern game with a salary cap.

He needs to play well to earn a place in the team. It's what Saints need.
I have faith in Jones.
Theres a big void with both Manu and Sia leaving.
Not sure why Manu retired. He looked to have at least one more season in him in my opinion.
