I tend to agree with you. I am no apologist for GH but don't think we have done too bad. Next year is the acid test with how we replace JP and Kylie. How do we know we haven't got some top quality players lined up for 2016 but have had to curtail spending to make sure we have cap space for next year?
The biggest mistake IMO is not getting a decent assistant coach, it started to feel stale last year think we could do with some new ideas
I agree, an assistant was the one appointment I wanted to see.
Because people have seen several names on here banded about like Lunt, Burgess, Taylor and even Paul Gallen then they get the incorrect impression that we have tried and failed left, right and centre to sign them.....when in reality there's no evidence apart from "my mate said" that we ever went after these players......and now you only have to read the last few pages to see that it's created a misguided sense in people's minds that we can't attract players to join us, when in reality we missed out on one who understandably preferred his hometown team.

Its the club he's learned his rugby and was part of for several years since he was a junior, so it's very understandable when he picks them over another club.
As ThePrinter says Mossop is the only confirmed approach and failure. We seem to have a thing for last minute recruits in recent years. Vickery and Lunt came in late for positions that needed filling. Hauraki and Moon were announced late in the year, so i don't think it's panic stations at the club yet.

Me personally, I couldn't care less who or if on links, or any rumours, what I do care about is that this team needed strengthening badly, and that hasn't changed. The club should have been doing that six months ago. The point you and some others are missing, and nothing to do with rumours, is that the club have realised it now too, but far too late.
I agree by the way on the assistant, but would have preferred further, and a new head.

It is exactly to do with rumours because saying the club has realised it now can't surely be based solely on us trying to sign one prop who got released early from his NRL deal.

No it's not. And the release came because the player asked for it, on the back of an offer from Leeds, who then lost out to Wigan. Not to mention them losing out on Huby too to an higher offer earlier this year.

I think clark signed for Wire mid way through the 2013 season and was loaned back to Cas for this last season as part of the deal.At that time we were in for Aiton so i don't think we ever really had him on our radar at all.
That's correct. At that time I don't think many people recognised just how good Clark was going to be. In some ways then he was still behind the overrated Milner.
There not just rumours at all. Just because you say it is a rumour, doesn't make it one. They are actual occurrences, as they have happened. Paul Gallen would be a rumour.
