Findus Crispy Pancakes were part of my student diet circa early 80's. Fried in a pan of lard of course. My socialist principles were obviously formed under such circumstances.

I do M and S food shop for my sister when I come home as a gift. I like looking at the different brands much better than USA .Its food tickets over here where I drink in Ruby Tuesdays restaurant in bad weather heavy snow etc on a Saturday there is only me and the food ticket families mostly African American.In The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists those who were working used to do their marketing.

Mum did a mean corned beef hash, which I occaisionally inflict on the kids. Still gives me massive indigestion, but worth the agony. 4 people fed for under 3 quid.

My mates and I went in on a deep fat fryer for our house at Uni. At the end of the first term we tried to clean it but my Dad (a machine tool fitter) ended up taking it to work to have it industrially de-greased.

Deep fried pork chops don't work by the way.
