As long as Leigh finish in the top 4 who cares.....prize money is worked out on were you finish in the middle 8 and not league positions.......get into top 5 in the middle 8 and will get min of £750,000 in prize money. That`s what DB said our aim is next season as will enable us to bring in 2/3 top end SL players for a big push for SL the season after (also said we will take a SL spot at end of next season if were lucky to achieve it at 1st attempt).

Good luck to Jacob in signing at Wakey......cant blame him for wanting to stay in the top league TBH.

Don't think it will be 750k. The extra 250k that bradford and london got is a parachute payment which won't happen next season.

At the fans forum Derek said that the 4 teams that get SL spots get 1.5 mill then a sliding scale from 750,000 downwards.

OK. The SL bit is fine, but I didn't know about the champ figures. The extra 250k this year was definitely stated as a parachute payment. I suppose we will find out in due course

that was for the coming season (parachute payment).........all new prize money structure at end of next season - a few of the SL clubs will struggle financially if they dont retain their SL spot at end of next season.

No, but there is increased annual central funding to those clubs relegated from Super League in 2014.[/url]

It's definitely been said at LISA meeting that the extra money Bradford & London get is for being ranked 1st & 2nd of the new Championship & the teams finishing 1st and 2nd (or 5ht & 6th in the Qualifier S8 if you prefer) will get that money next year, teams finishing 3rd & 4th (7th/8th) will get the money us and Featherstone got his year.

Which shows how crucial last season was - very difficult to see how other champ clubs bridge the gap
