Still, I can't see it being a worse prospect than the ever slowing ponderous LF we now select there; the new potential future LF who is also incapable of breaking the line or the now paceless guy who 'cruises' through matches and only raises his game for one/two games per season.

Moons a decent centre, wish he would straighten up his run sometimes rather than taking all the wingers space but something that can be corrected. Wouldn't long term want him at SO

For me Moon does sometimes look shakey at centre and this does somewhat explain it. TBH i didn't know he started out at 5/8 and he does look light for a centre, so this does explain a lot for me. But learning he was a 5/8 i would expect his fast/late pass to be better.

Funniest thing about that article is it calling mark edmondson an enforcer.

Joel Moon is a good rugby player. Strong, skilful, puts the shoulder in tackle and is a positive player to have around.

That's not to say he's a great centre. His partnership with Hall is scratchy but still light years in front of Watkins/Briscoe.

I agree with you BB and would add that despite Watkins naturally gifted silky skills that over that last 2 seasons Moon has put in the better average performance of the two, on the whole, and that is not intended in any way as a put down for Watkins.

Although I agree that Watkins is not best utilising his unique talents I think he performs far better than Moon overall, who I do actually rate.

Sadly I agree with the majority on here - Watkins is superb to watch when he is on his game sadly that seldom happened in the second half of last season. The threat always looked like it was coming on the left hand side
