I appreciate that the Big Bash brings something new to our league, giving us more television exposure but I do have an issue with a league structure that has now become unequal.
Not meaning to be disrespectful to Hunslet but had we been down to play Leigh for a third time in the season, our campaign would have been made considerably more difficult. As it is, we've probably been lucky to avoid the more fancied teams.
It seems fundamentally unfair that we no longer have a level playing field in that each time plays each other twice, home and away.
Imagine if Leigh beat Fev at the bash, we beat Hunslet ... and we finish fourth, one point above Fev. We get in the middle eight whilst Fev are in the bottom eight. Not fair, is it?
