It looks like there was some good news in the LDF inspectors report for Castleford that needs reporting as well.

The Cas Tigers Wheldon Road site (N101) is still allocated to provide 105 houses in the housing plan tables, but representatives for Cas Tigers, Nestle & C6 (former Hicksons site) presented a successful case to have this following inserted in the LDF to provide flexibility to all special policy areas, with all these sites falling into the wider SPA N9.

91. The SPAs are substantial areas allocated for mixed-use development intended
to meet a significant proportion of the District’s housing and employment land
requirements, supported by ancillary or complementary uses. For clarity and
to provide necessary flexibility, (MM41) amends paragraph 8.2 of the Sites
Plan to inform that such ancillary or complementary uses could include the
provision of neighbourhood or district centres to accommodate ancillary retail,
leisure, education and community uses.

This would mean that a retail application in any part of SPA N9 would not be in direct contravention of the plan and would be given due planning consideration within the SPA.

Of course Towns88, I shouldn't have been so presumptuous as to assume that you would not have spotted this yourself already! I apologise that this small piece of good news gets in the way of your current bitterness towards your neighbours potential progress.

The only progress the Rhinos are currently making is backwards. I have no bitterness towards that IA.

We could be moving towards the RFL nightmare scenario, where we both have grounds. Yorkcourt aren't going to pull out of ours, because it's just part of a bigger development, and you won't pull out of yours when you get the wonga. Two top grounds for the two top teams. Sick of the arrogance of those from outside the area who say we should share. No one tells Leigh to move into the DW, or asked Saints why they didn't move into Wigan, or Warrington into Widnes, etc. The geographies are the same.

Then what will the RFL do?

Interestingly if for example Widnes, Cas, Salford, Bradford and Wakey in similar positions with compliant stadia, which I hope happens sincerely. The without a doubt financial operations and administration would be key factors and rightly so. Widnes were explicitly excluded on the basis of their admin entry once.

Clutching at straws i think mdean, the RFL have said on numerous occasions that administration is not an issue in regards to licensing.
I think by the time the next lot of licenses are issued there may have been a few more clubs with the administrators knocking on the door anyway.
A lot of value is placed (by the RFL) on clubs moving up the license grading, something (with NM) we will undoubtebly do, you need to concentrate on GH (which i hope you get sorted) not straw clutching, or come the day it may well be Cas staring down the barrel!!
