Nothing!

If clubs get round the salary cap now they will in the future.

Until the RFL have the gonads like the NRL then all this is pie in the SKY

The game in this country is run by the "rich" clubs not the RFL. They get what they want, see latest "good deal for the clubs" allied to distribution of funds, cup exemptions etc.

The game is making huge strides, but in what direction?

sounds like a front the RFL are putting up to "scare" the rich clubs, I don't see it working?

He'll have no additional legal powers compared to before, however it's far better to have a dedicated person looking into it rather than the responsibility for that under an already stretched thin RFL executive. Especially someone with his background.

It's probably come about with the new tv deal providing more funds so allowing more clubs to operate at or near the salary cap level compared to before.

Anyone who thinks a SL club is massively over the salary cap is seriously overestimating how much RL players are paid.

It might not be long before we find out what he's doing. The SMH are reporting Terry Campese will be joining Salford.

If that happens, his salary will count for nothing against the insurance pay-outs from his injuries.

Hopefully he will find widespread breaking of the cap so we can finally be rid of this cap that doesn't work, is counterproductive, damages the game and punishes players for owners mistakes.

Hell even the RFL think this cap is too low but it's kept in place to protect clubs who can't grow and the profits of those who can.

Pretty sure this isn't a new role. I seem to remember a similar post being advertised a good three or four years ago.
