Think it's more that 12 was available after Chan left. Maybe Lawrence and Ta'ai wanted to keep their numbers from last year.

ATEOTD the first 20 are pretty much last years numbers only Koppy has lost his number to Huby and taken Patrick's with Wood, Broughton, Mulally and the rest moving up to fill the holes left by Faiumu and Kafausi and the kids filling in at the end.

Probably PA didn't want to bother moving too much around.

Completely agree Mad Jack. I don't think anything should be read into the squad numbers and I don't think they give any indication as to what the first game 17 will look like. Looks to me like players have in the main just kept the same shirt number as last year.

My only comment is if the final player is 29 and the squad place winner 33 that potentially leaves three squad places to be filled either by promoting from the Academy or maybe still not finished on the signing front.

never read too much into these squad numbers

only loser looks like kopczak dropping down for huby

hughes takes chan's number, he's come to get games and looks like he will get them, cup and grand final winner too.. purtill obviously rates him highly from coaching him with the England knights

Squad numbers generally don't mean much. Last year our #23 & #32 started the majority of games and we got as far down the list as #42 playing!

The numbers are relatively the same but pre season has just begun. I am certain there will be a few changes in the squad come hull FC, saying that wouldn't be suprised if that was the initial squad with a change up coming depending on the team and individual performances after the hull game
