an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

Tigers, Hull KR and Saints have all increased.

Hardly the making of a progressive club. I'm very surprised, envious and pretty annoyed you got club of the year.

It will go down even more next season :D

Tbh I think Cas probably should have won the award, but the fall out from their fans (and many others) over the past 15-16 hours has made me very glad they didn't. Ha Ha Superb. Fact remains, Cas like Widnes, got in the top 8, and didn't win anything! Both had very good seasons

The reaction from Cas fans has been more angry because the 'fans' of the Widnes club ruined the after-match celebrations at LSV. I'm sure that fans of other clubs that had not been a semi final winner for such a long time would feel the same.

HaHa FFS, ruined their celebrations! Surely the fact Castleford fans didn't run on to engage Widnes supporters meant their celebrations weren't affected at all? Cry me a river. :D :D

And if we are playing that game, I recall being stood in the WRE about 2002 swapping ends, being subjected to all manner of verbal abuse, coins raining down, you scouse this, you scouse that! needless to say in time, fighting broke out. I have not once been to the Cas and Wakey and not seen any kind of incident, so lets not brush your own under the carpet. Tbh I don't lose any sleep over it. But don't try and play the 'Whiter than white' card.

Ah well, might as well blame football fans. Bloody yobs :D

Up the Chemics. The club of the year. Ha Ha got a nice ring to it. Cya Bommy night xx

Well I go to every Wakefield game, and I don't often see trouble, but if you do, I guess we've found the common denominator.
Stay at home next time. Both sides will have a better experience.

I am expressing my opinion and the reason for the reaction to the Widnes club being awarded Club of the Year (THIS YEAR). I fully accept that all clubs, including Cas and Widnes) have been guilty of indiscretions in the past, but perhaps on these occasions the club(s) were not given awards.
It is only you that is talking about seasons past, but my point is still valid and the truth remains that the Widnes club in my opinion and that of quite a few others, should not have been given this year's award, as they have not progressed as far as Cas (this year) and your so called fans have brought the name of the club into disrepute by their actions at LSV.

Cas admitted having to sell players to stave off administration and won't s fecking award for it?

If you're really annoyed about this after the season you've just had you need to start enjoying your rugby more!

Re: Club of the year : Fri Oct 10, 2014 10:46 am
I must say I got sidetracked there. I neglected to say congratulations to Widnes.

I was critical of the fans at the semi and some other places but the club seem to be working hard on that, and when you see how far they have come it is a club worthy of the award.
Initially I thought Cas would get it, and they would be deserving too, but I have heard a lot of praise aimed at the set up of the club at Widnes and clearly that has made the difference rather than just on field success.

Again, someone talking about last year, not this one.
I didn't say that I'm annoyed about it. I will repeat that in my opinion the award is not deserved by the Widnes club more than any other club for this year, for reasons I have stated earlier in the thread.

Erm nobody has attacked me personally, but I have seen a few things that I would class as beyond banter if you like.

And Sarge, if we want to be pedantic, then from a Widnes/Cas POV, then the events of the Semi Final were last year (if by year you mean season)

I dont want to get embroiled in a daft tiff. As both clubs have done really well, and we should celebrate that with equal measure. As it has been a huge stride in the right direction, Cas probably should have the award IMO, but it is hardly as if the Tigers went without recognition. Be interesting to see how both respective clubs turn out next season. Throw Salford in that mix too
