Hammy injury from rushing back from his knee recon. Hammy ligament used in place of anterior cruciate ligament. Should have given him an extra 3 weeks before making his return to make sure his hammy was rock solid and he wouldnt have had all this trouble.
It will no doubt be linked to the ACL injury and also the wishbone tackle he suffered in the NRL. 3 weeks extra would be unlikely to make his hamstring rock solid as even a few days missed or less intense training could see a fall off in fitness. These secondary issues can also be caused by trying too hard to build up the other muscles. The bottom line is ACL injury makes other injuries more likely.
That is not saying the injury management could not have been better, only Luke & the physios would know that, but they will be finding out what he can and can't do by pushing him. Luke's ACL injury is hugely complicated by the wishbone injury thereby affecting both ends of the hamstring.
