Are people allowed to suggest that Her Maj was actually 'born' - what with the connotations of blood and private parts and her mam swearing like a trooper during labour? Surely she cannot have been conceived by intercourse? She must have been immaculately conceived and delivered by a stork - or is the stork not a noble enough bird? Golden eagle perhaps.
One of the funniest things I heard recently BTW was a comment that the Queen mum was a noted society 'beauty'. I have to say I've seen a lot of photos of the old bat in her younger days, and 'beauty' isn't a word that ever springs to mind.

Without wishing to stray too far off topic: those who hark back to the mythical "golden Age" of English football need a reality check. Apart from the 1966 World Cup Final win, the England footbal team have been shit for decades. It's got buggerall to do with the amount of money in the game, when the game was skint we were shit, now with the game being incredibly awash with money, we're still shit.

A few years ago, I explained to my parents that, given one of the surnames in the family (Ingham*), we probably have a bit of German in the background too.
They were not amused.
I found it hilarious.
* Meaning 'Ing's ham', apparently. A 'ham' is a homes, in essence. And 'Ing' was one of the German names for Freya, the god of fertility. So the heritage is probably Saxon.
