Quality loan signing for the season including the play offs, if we get into that top four, ok by me. Two match wonder getting fitness back, then off back to the SL club looks a disaster waiting to happen. Also let's see how are current squad goes before we start panicking about DR. That Easter period we will need some help playing London, Bradford and then a potential banana skin at Hunslet.

Why be surprised?
As I said it's a none event, how many voted for the shirt?
As for deciding which way I voted, go back to my origional post!
Expand the choice and I might, just might vote.
I prefer to wait and see what happens, after all worrying about tomorrow spoils today, and I never spoil today.
Life is too brilliant.

My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

Part quote from The Beggars Littany by John Taylor circa 16C

From Hell,Hull and Halifax may the Good Lord deliver us.

In my humble opinion, this is a two way thing, D/R could give us bite where and when we need it. How many times have we heard the coach say "it's hard to plan for a game when you don't know who the opposition are playing?" I like other don't want to see 'Fax dictated to by other teams getting players fit only to take them back, on the flip side if D/R is used correctly and as has been mentioned like a loan we have used the 'short term loan' ie 3 or 4 weeks to our advantage, we even loaned players out to get them fit, only to recall when we needed them. a final point of 'loanee or D/R does it disrupt the dressing room, or players whose place is taken, it would pee me off if I was in or out depending on who wants a game. Give the BOD and the Coach some credit to operate the club to the best advantage for HRLFC.

My opinion is that normally "No" but circumstances may dictate things that many of us dont want. We dont have the Money that others have and Richard Marshall doesnt really have too much room to bring in his own Players this season as all of the signings, bar I think one, have been made with Karl Harrison. Richard may feel he Needs a certain Player to help the Team Play his way. From what a number of People tell me about RM he is somebody that doesnt just make decisions without thinking things through and is somebody that will spend hours looking at Videos and other things to help make his judgement on things. RM is a way better Coach than any of us and is highly regarded within the game and we are lucky to get somebody of his calibre speaking to People who are involved at top end of the game. Before we start judging People including the board we maybe Need to think why a decision- whether it be signing a DR or other things- has been made rather than just having a go.

The fax in Asia and the lucky black cat, superb comments thank you very much, seems our thoughts are very much alike.
None of this "if we do I'm finished" let's leave an open mind and judge what happened with the explanation we are given.

If he needs a certain player then DR is not the way to achieve that, it would have to be a loan otherwise the required player could be off after 2 games. The loan system is fine as it gives you a specific time period within in which to work.

Dual Registration.....My view.
DR is not there to help lower league teams, it's there to benefit SL clubs, no matter what people may say.
I don't want to spend my hard earned brass on watching some other clubs player turning out for Fax to get fit/have game time for his own club.
I would like to think that we are above having a parent club, Mr Poskitts own words. We are Halifax RLFC. We aren't some pit village in Wakefield or Wigan. What an insult to our history and pride it would be to go DR under some other club.
As for walking away from the club, it would not be my club, it would not be Fax.
Everyone has the right to choose, but if we went down the DR route I personally don't think that I would have a choice to make, it would have been made for me by people who haven't been at Fax for a fraction of the time me and my family have supported the club.
Up The Fax.

I agree with you Pete as you know, but i would never walk away and neither should you.
I am not against us being the parent club in a DR system, that may be hypercritical. What's your view on this ?

My view is we shouldn't do that either. By going DR you are doing SL/RFL's dirty work for them. Remember, DR was originally, for one reason at least, brought in when SL axed reserve teams and SL clubs used the peasants to give game time to fringe players and players coming back from injury. Never!

Also thinking how does this help a team to work on and build a proper gameplan if you are dropping different players in each week? Oh hang in, it'll be like Fax under KH, no continuity, something that was much bemoaned on this forum last season.
