Doncaster Squad 2015 - discussion : Mon Sep 01, 2014 11:35 am  

With the 2015 season tickets going on sale at this Sunday's final league game of the season, I'd be hopeful that the club might be making some announcements with regards to next season's squad.

Rumours on another thread suggest Danny Cowling has signed for us from Halifax. He's a quality player and would be a great asset to our squad. That would be welcome news.

In order to improve our chances of a top four finish next season, or to perhaps rival Leigh for top spot, what improvements to the squad would everyone like to see?

Great news for the Dons and well done to all concerned if so. Further to that question is who should we retain from the current squad for next season? No easy choices to make when it comes down it and I don't envy anyone the task.

been chatting to a Halifax fan on facebook and he has told me that Danny Cowling has signed for us. Great player good tackler and a wingers dream centre

Lucas Walshaw who was on Dual Reg with Cowling would be a good signing !

I knew Danny Cowling was a sub yesterday for Halifax but never actually noticed him when he came on.

I would imagine that most of this season's squad would be retained as we'll probably be wanting to be self-sufficient and not be too reliant on any possible Dual Reg arrangement with Hull, if we continue the agreement with them. Without the Hull lads, we'd have been pretty thin on the ground at times this season.

My wish list is for four more players of the calibre of Steve Snitch and four more youngsters like Pas Dunn!

PC and the club certainly seem to have an eye for bringing in the right players. I've every confidence they'll do a good job for us.

The one thing the club and coaching staff seem able to do is get the absolute best out of players, work to their strengths, and have a team spirit that is second to none. Hopefully, the players we want to sign will recognise this and want to be part of the Dons.

I particularly remember Lucas Walshaw and Danny Cowling combining really well in our win at London which sealed winning the league when we got promoted.

I think he'd be a great signing for us. He went on Dual Reg from Wakey to Dewsbury earlier this season. He got a nasty tongue injury and returned back to Wakey. He didn't play for Dewsbury again. He last played for Wakefield in June and seems to have been out of favour lately.

On another forum someone has suggested he has agreed terms with a club for next season but not Dewsbury.

Let's hope it could be us. I've seen him have some good games for Wakey. I didn't think he looked out of place at Super League level. He's a young lad who is likely to get better too.
