Is the fact that Watkins his centre a factor?
A factor possibly but not the sole one. They've bombed a few chances through miscommunication, sometimes Watkins fault, sometimes Briscoe.....other times just our lack of spreading the ball wide or use of dummy runners to draw the defence in to create an overlap.
I think in defence Watkins a few years ago was making more poor decisions than now but has improved with getting familiar with with his teammates. Now this year with England he has a few new guys in Smith and J.Tomkins on his side and he seems to have gone back to 2011/12 Watkins in defence. And it's all about the reading because he's actually a good tackler when he gets himself positioned right so it's not like he can't hold his own completely tackling.
