Every Saturday morning, at the Rhinos Kirkstall Training Academy, the Junior Rhinos experienced & qualified coaches run skills sessions aimed at improving children's skills and confidence whilst enjoying themselves in a friendly & safe environment.
We have a core skills programme that tests youngsters at their appropriate age level without making them feel nervous or embarrassed and our main focus, skill-wise, is upon passing & handling. But the primary aim of the Junior Rhinos is simply to provide somewhere for kids to enjoy taking part in, and playing, rugby league without the pressure that can sometimes be placed upon them when at a club.
Every Saturday morning 9:45am for 10am start until midday. Kirkstall Academy, near Morrison's on Kirkstall Road.
No need to pre-book, just come along and give it a try
Feel free to ask any questions on here or by email juniorrhinos@yahoo.co.uk and I'll respond as quickly as I can
Got kids who may be interested in rugby league?

This is still going? I went to the Junior Rhinos when I was young and I'm 29 now!
Damn, I wish I was a kid again
Yep we're still going! We've had a number of years of "flying under the radar" without much publicity from the club and so numbers dropped off, but there's been a renewed push as we now fit in nicely with the club's and Leeds Rugby Foundation's 3 year plan.
I was there when I was young too and I'm 28 so might have played in the same team as you.

Me to, or Blue & Amber Club as it was then known as.
It was Schoey who took the sessions I attended.
The Blue & Amber Club, then eventually Junior Rhinos, then Ronnie's Club, now back to Junior Rhinos again.
Both of you might remember one of the coaches from back then, Mel Coates, who just turned 70 but is still there every week
With the Super League season now over I thought I'd bump this up again.
Anyone aged 4-15, of any ability, very welcome.
Perfect for kids who need to gain some confidence in rugby league or just generally. Also we have plenty of kids who also play for amateur clubs but use the Junior Rhinos to top up on skills or just for some fun.
