I see Wakey in a better position than last year , by a mile. We had some good and unexpected wins last year Warr, Wig And Leeds. I think Wig St hel and Warr will win more games next season and points against them will be hard . Leeds, Hudd, Cas HKR, Hull and Wid I think will either remain the same or see a drop in form. Salf and Cats im not sure about, On the whole the squad looks in good shape. and I don't think we should worry about any team. Week 15 Wid, 17 Leeds, 18 Salf, 21 Warr, and 22 Cas are all at home and could be vital. I think we will hold our own next season and cause quite a few problems.
It will be a lot to do with timing next year. You either need to have such a good start that you are well in to the 8, or have a great end to the season. Can't afford to be 9th (which by any other season standard would be great, and then drop off for the Middle 8 playoffs.
Don't particuarly see where this team/squad is any stronger on paper than the one we had at the end of the season just gone. Webster taking over and Smith, Riley & Owen came in when we were 3rd bottom and took us to the heady heights of a finishing position of, err, 3rd bottom. Yes they'll be better for haviing a pre-season but other teams will also be saying exactly the same and they have also in theuir eyes strengthened as well. As for the new signings for me Paea is a good pick up but it is outweighed by losing our best prop in Tautai, Simon is no better than Moore was so that levels out, Hall a slight upgrade on Sykes maybe but not at fullback which looks like his spot in this squad and Ashurst is a waste of a signing in my eyes given our depth in the back row. As it stands i can see nothing other than a bottom four finish and then a battle to ensure we keep our superleague status in the farcical split. Sorry if that upsets anybodys fluffy little world on here but it is a forum and thats my opinion, i'll go back into hibernation now again and leave you all be.

I think most of us would agree with the assumption that we will be in the bottom 4.
Trinity, Hull, Catalan, Salford, Widnes, Cas and Rovers will be in the mix for the bottom four spots. Are Trinity better than four of these teams? Maybe one or two, but not four.
I agree KK. But I don't mind if we spend the next 5 years competing well, still coming in the bottom 4, and fininshing in the top 2 of the middle 8. I don't want to be mid table mediocre but mid table obscurity is not a bad thing. Accept that the top guys will be competing for GF, maybe have a tilt if we find some cash, but stay in Super League. That will keep me coming to watch.

It'll be interesting to see if Cas are in this group or not. On this season form they would not, and Leeds maybe would. We shall see.

The bookies have us rock bottom finishers. With widnes, hkr and cas joining us in the bottom 4.

We are also the team the championship sides fancy playing in that 4th v 5th play off as they see us as the worst SL team and their best chance of superleague. It's quite conceivable that it will be us versus Bradford in a one-off game for a place in SL. Given our record against them i for one wouldn't be confident at all.
