There were some horrid superhero kukri ones on a certain rugby suppliers website. Anyone seen them bad boys. Eyewateringly bad.

I wonder how that will suit JJB during the modelling shoot if it does end up being the kit? Moreover, I wonder what the reaction will be on here?

I'm assuming we are sticking with the white and turquoise style for the away shirt then this year going by the training kit that's been released

The whole kit thing is getting silly these days.

Teams are producing three shirts in most cases (home, away and testimonial/charity), which change every year. I can understand why annual change might be needed if you're changing title sponsor or kit manufacturer, but otherwise it's just an exercise in milking those who think they "have" to have the latest kit to stand on the terraces in.

If clubs made kits last two years for example, might more fans be tempted to actually buy the new shirts when they come out knowing they won't be out of date 12 months later?

I sense your just a tight wad who's stuck in the 80's.

New season new kit, everyone looks forward to that?

I reckon they should have it so both home and away shirts last two years but stagger the change so one year its a new home shirt the following year new away shirt.

I buy a replica shirt or polo shirt if I like the design & the colour(s).
In some years I've bought the home shirt, in others I've bought the away shirt & occasionally bought both with the odd testimonial shirt thrown in if I like the player & the shirt.
In other years I've not bought any.
It's a (relatively) free world & I exercise choice.
But I do look forward to the kit launches just to see what they look like.
I don't care what anybody else does, that's up to them.

I like annual kit launches. I might buy a shirt, I might not (and I probably wear them more now I'm pretty much guaranteed to be the only person in town who has one so I don't feel like such a sheep!). But either way, it gives us something to talk about.

A lot of objections flow from people being unable to say no to their kids. Which would only manifest itself somewhere else if it wasn't over rugby shirts. It's relatively easy not to buy one if you don't want to.

This whole argument of having kits that come out every two years bores me to death. You dont have to bloody buy them you know! This argument about pressure being put on parents by children is also rubbish, if your kids cant understand the justification then they need to be taught manners. If your an adult then you need to grow up.

I'll use myself as an example, I have a bloody good job that if so required I could buy every home/away/testimonial/charity shirt they ever released. Do I? No do i hell. When a new shirt comes along that i actually like and know I'll wear regularly I'll get one. In the 2014 season I bought the away shirt (first new shirt i've bought in probably 3 years) and then bought the tour de france charity shirt as they were good looking shirts. Basically what im trying to say is if you're daft enough to part with your hard earned on every new shirt then you deserved to be milked by the club

Fair enough.

I tend to not bother with the shirts anyway so it don't really bother me either way, always got one for xmas as a youth but only the odd polo shirt for me these days.

I would probably be tempted to invest if they brought out a heritage shirt from time to time like they do in the NRL, along with a round of fixtures every year, which i think is a great idea to keep a link to the days pre SL. Parade club greats from either side before KO.Really can't see why this hasn't happened yet
