Sorry to have to report that a TRUE DONS LEGEND David MARRA Towle has passed away.
My condolences to his family.

Very sad news Marra was a local lad & a former pupil of Don Valley High School he was a great full back for the Dons & a superb goal kicker he turned down the offer of a lucrative transfer to Huddersfield because he loved playing for the Dons.

Very sad news. I've fond memories of seeing Dave play all those years ago.

Legend often over used nowadays but not on this occasion. RIP David and condolences to his family.

I used to see him knocking about on his bike quite a lot and in the Grove pub and the York Bar in years gone by.
I am quite surprised, since he was thin and looked fit.

According to the Stats sheet - David Towle 1966/67 to 1976/77 135 games, 7 tries, 183 goals, 20 drop goals, 427 pts.
6th on the All Time Points list.
A true Dons legend. RIP.
