Ok so we've gone with Owen. My next question is how can we afford Owen on a 3 year deal? Yet not be in a position to offer the likes of Kay, Walshaw etc deals. I doubt they'll have asked for more, in fact I'd wager Owen is on fairly large salary. Furthermore why should those lads play their hearts out and let's be fair here, I go to the majority of games and can't recall them ever giving less than 100%, and be expected to watch certain other players get paid a higher amount to look disinterested!
Like yourself I only know what I'm told and also like yourself I can only speculate, It's been said on here that Owen was offered a three year deal as against a two year deal with the same amount of money spread over three instead of two years' who knows? but I dare bet that where they might have broken the bank for Timmy Owen will not have been afforded the same level of negotiations and treated the same, the problem is the club put a valuation on these younger players' which they can afford to pay and if other clubs' are prepared to pay more for them and their agents' are encouraging them to take the higher offer because they not only looking after their clients' but themselves as well, These sort of problems' would not arise at certain other clubs' unfortunately we're not one of those, and imo that's the case with Walshaw and Kay, luckily for us young Crowther and Jowett have turned their back on other offers' and hopefully they will stay patient till their time comes and they get their chance.
