Oh my lord.

If you look what ive written and read it properly you should understand that i haven't criticised garys style or technique at all. I have stated that his interviews are too safe to be interesting to the average fan and thats why he gets poor viewing figures.

We all know why he has to play it safe, if he didn't the club would not allow him access. Thats the simple truth of the matter sunshine. In effect, its not garys fault or problem. Im sure he would love to ask more risque questions.

But what is it?

Who said they get poor viewing figures - my only comment on viewing figures has been why does the coach get 10 times mor viewing figures than a player!!!
Our server couldn't cope with many more viewing figures for the Lowes interviews and I am sure it will be creaking under pressure after tomorrow's interview!

Back to your original question then Gary. I'm afraid I've not had chance to view any of the videos from the last few weeks yet, but from ones I've seen previously I'd have to say I'd agree with others who say you perhaps need to ask some more difficult questions. People probably are more interested in watching the coach because they feel he is more likely to say something revealing about the direction of the team.

For example - with Matt King, I think last year you spoke to him about the media rumours of him being homesick and joked about the weather etc. Perhaps if you'd been a bit more direct and offered your own opinion rather than blaming the media for that opinion. Right now for example, you could ask him what it means to him to play for Warrington - does he think he can make it as a centre for us - does he get on with Kevin Penny - etc etc.

I think it will be more than Gary's job's worth to come across as being too antagonistic to the coach and players- I'm sure if he went down that road the interviews would soon start drying up.

I agree but realise it is hard for Gary. If the questions are too uncomfortable then the club will just pull out of doing them.

Probably the more opportune time to ask direct, difficult questions is the post match press conference. Is it possible we could see the video of that?

Accept my sincere apologies old chap, I must have got the wrond end of the stick in regards to the viewing figures.

Anyway, I hope you give Jimmy some stick this week for that big pile of doo doo we all witnessed last saturday night.
