Haha! Brilliant! Got to feel sorry for the people in the ticket office - polite (though over-keen) calls to prior commited season-ticket holders offering them a personal service and a call they don't even have to pay for to sign up there and then.
Instead, they get a tirade about stagnation and a lack of foresight coming from the top down and that this is why they are yet to renew; the deal being put forward does not match the product you demand as a buyer. The fact they said they have had several responses like that must make it unfortunate for them; on a hiding to nothing.
Get B McD and GH making some calls, so punters can 'have it out' directly with those more in a position to do something about it. Won't happen, but would be great if it did.
I wouldn't necessarily say it was a case of fans 'taking it out' on ticket office staff.
At the end of the day, this is what a sales and marketing process is. The sales staff are the ones with direct contact with the customer base and, hopefully, they will feedback to the business what that customer base is telling them. What the business choose to do with that feedback is up to them but, if the business is being run well, that feedback will form the basis of future decision making.
At the moment, what the club is offering isn't appealing to large sections of the customer base, and it is important that the club knows this.
