The big questions on Kelly are not about his ability once on the field but getting him on it in the first place. Considering the dobbins record on signing players with "issues" this is another huge gamble. Still the pubs and doctors in Hull can look forward to more work coming their way.

And as has been said if he does turn out any good he'll be going somewhere else pretty quickly.

Like it or not (and I really don't) but on the whole, Rovers NRL gambles have proven more effective than our gambles, if you get my drift. Clearly this is a risk, but it is one I would have taken personally.

Not sure on that and Willie Mason remains the benchmark against all others. TBH with the NRL salary cap so high and the clubs there now having a bit of space to accommodate even problem players signing any NRL player is something of a gamble these days.
