think roberts played prop for Bradford too.

He’s a bit small for prop. Definitely back row material at the moment.

Genuine question this - What's the big deal about signing or producing British players?

I mean at Wigan we produce more than most, but it doesn't give you any extra points when the game kicks off.

I never understand this attitude that signing local lads is best. I just like to see good players play for Wigan, and I don't really mind where they come from.

When Blake Green goes back to Aussie next year we will replace him with a Wigan trainee. All very laudable. But most Wigan fans would rather see a like for like replacement.

Can't wait for you to have a couple of defeats then moan in the season about quality signings not been made to much youth etc. On the Kr dig- Dixon, donaldson, mccarthy, Goulding all signed and English. Hallet, green, ollet,gudzeck, cox, carlile, walker and salter all under 25, english and first team squad. Then lets not forget the over 25 Englishmen such as cockayne, welham etc. But you have a really valid point there.

due to us having no fans, we can't afford quality big name signings like everyone else, we also put a lot of faith in our system in developing players rather than just buying them.

it also gives the fans ( or lack of them) something to feel proud about when half the team have been developed by our club rather than another club, to answer the wigan fan, who surely must take immense pride in their system of developing local players, and rightly so!

thought the same, obviously thrown in at prop when you was lacking players at that time.
