I believe Mr Poskitt is salaried so there should be some accountability and if little is achieved then he'll need to explain why. Is this just another project that will fizzle out? Only time will tell, thanks for your input though......

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Thats my point, salaried or not, if he doesnt have a pre set budget to spend, he'll achieve little

It requires at least a season long ' plan ' that whoever can implement, if he has to go cap in hand for every little initiative it just wont work

IMO

Can't disagree with you, I haven't a clue what the budget is. I'm just taking this announcement at face value and hoping the club becomes a slicker operation off the pitch. Don't get me wrong I'm up there with the best of cynics but I can't see the point of pulling it apart when we 1) don't know the budgets and 2) it's only just been announced.

Personally I would come at this initiative from a different angle. On previous threads it was debated that we had a behind the scenes team who had been at the club for a long time and whilst doing/have done a great job, either paid or as volunteers, perhaps had run out of ideas etc.I see this new group as a think tank to genereate ideas for the BOD to decide if the proposal is then worth spending money on etc. The areas they are targetting look bob on to me. The game day experience for example neeeds to be much more polished and something to draw not only us diehards in but also the casual spectator, families, local amateur clubs. Chasing new revenue streams, and maintaining existing ones, is vital for any successful club and we are no different. I also like the idea of it being a link between the club and some of it's fans. They have my support, as the Supporters Trust and their initiatives do,after all we are all part of the Fax!

I'm glad you posted that Starbug. Although i haven't exactly read-up yet on the real purpose of this group, i did wonder why do it. Has mr Poskitt raised that half a million yet BTW ?

On face value it looks a good idea so hopefully it will blossom and some good will come of it. People on this forum gave long been calling for more fan involvement and Andy Binns is a well known local supporter so it's now time for the cynics(and at times we can all be one, myself included) to give a new approach a chance.

Well said Mark Rose is a good businessman so will bring some commercial savvy to the table my only concern is they must be given some power and not just be a talking shop as others have said, lets give it a go as the Board are only small in number so this should help them. I hope this changes attitudes within the club and as I have already put makes the club treat its sponsors better!

It is 100% in order to raise the subject of how much revenue has been raised by the Commercial Director! As his job title shows he is responsible for all commercial activities at the club. How anybody out their can question the relevance of how much (or little) has been achieved to date is beyond me!
