Every game will be competitive next season. We just to get running from game 1 to have a chance of going to the top 8.

Personally I think it's a poop system and I can't wait for it to blow up in the faces of the RFL.

Well that's a good start anyway.

Apart from the Tautai loss, I think we're better on paper than last year, I like who we've brought in. Add in to that a full off seaon for Webster to get the troops ready as well as a full year of Timmy. We may have ended up in the same place pre and post Agar but the Defensive structures and attacking lines seemed far better and that produced some really good wins over a few of the top sides and were close to chasing down the top 8. Trouble was when that wasn't a reality anymore we seemed to take the foot off the gas and players were rested. Defo possible to get into the top 8 but more realistically we'll be battling week in week out to keep up there.

Next season will be shorter and far more intense and competitive. Our squad looks lacking and the back line is thread bare.
We can put together a reasonable 1 to 17 but I really fear what will happen if we get a few key injuries.
I think the bookies have got it about right in tipping us to finish bottom.

The point I was making, sarcastically, is that we're always favoured for the drop or bottom but it's never happened so far..

My take on it also. But whilst your correct and the first part of the season will be shorter and more intense, i.e. no London easy beats and no big clubs taking it easy at times like last year, the second part after the split makes the aeason longer overall by at which point clubs with small squads will likely be struggling. We will end up with a raft of loan players throughout the season again and be back to being disjointed lacking cohesion, something that a good pre-season was supposed to help. I think the bookies are not far off on this as over the course of the first 23 rounds who do you see finishing below us given all the respective squads?

Re: Next season : Mon Oct 20, 2014 1:45 pm
TT and Moore were our best props, Scruton, Anderson, Pea and Simon lack agression, in order to have a chance we need an agressive prop who can put us on the front foot, Ashurst is not a patch on Walshaw and I simply do not understand that signing and would suggest that Ashurst will be more expensive. I like Hall he is a good signing. Not sure about Owen, when he was in the mood he looked good, hope he buys into Trinity and responds well to the three year contract, pre his leg break he was talk as been the next star. I would like us to sign Duckworth from Leeds. We are also lacking centres, Sicknote Colliss will give us 7 or 8 games so he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool and only to play against Hull, KR, Widnes, Cas and Salford, he and Ali must be kept fit for ` `winable games ` and be kept fit once it becomes obvious that we will be in the middle 8, they are match winners in that League. We need to sign two centres I would go for Minms from Leeds. We have the best squad our budget will allow ( except for Ashusrt v Walshaw ), I think that Duckworth and Minms would not break the bank. The board have done a great job in getting Tim Smith he is real quality. I realy like Paul McShane and I think his skill set puts doubt in defenders minds whilst when we had Aiton defenders only had to worry what Tim Smith was doing. The biggest difference is the coach, if Webster gets us in the top 8 then he will be the coach of the year, if he gets us in the top 4 of the middle 8 then he will have had a good season. If the bookies are right its going to be tough to get in that top 4 with Widnes, KR and Cas plus London, Bradford Fev, Halifax. Its a great system and if we are in the middle 8 its going to be a great League.

Personally think Hull KR, Widnes, Cas have similar strength squads to ours and Hull and Salford aren't much better. So like every season injuries will be a big deal. It comes down to which team can keep their best 19/20 players on the pitch. If we're lucky and others aren't who knows what can happen. There's a good chance any team outside of the top 6 might struggle if they have an injury crisis.

I think we will hold our own next season. Widnes will be in for a sharp drop in form. We normally perform well against them and I don't see any change. Hudds always play well against us and I think we will win one of our two outing against them. We made up for the Bradford games last season with 2 good wins against wigan and war, we will need to be on top of our game to get the same results in 2015. Leeds can grind games out, but I think we will be ok against them along with H K R and Hull. Cas will drop from last season I feel sure, or we will see just how good a coach We should be ok against Cats at home and hopefully Salford.
The C C could also play its part.
