I genuinely hope somebody can put a solid business plan together and get the Bulls up and running as a profitable (or near profitable) operation and keep the team and players going this year and onwards.

I see no joy in this present situation for anyone in the game.

And last but not least, to all those people that wrote this team off, to all those people that criticized this team...tonight's for you, thank you.

I'll tell you this now, of all the sportsmen I have ever seen, this guy is the most impressive. Clare Balding 6/10/12

The situation at Odsal really saddens me. We've always had great banter with the Bulls lot but to see ANY RL club go to the wall is not encouraging but a club with the status and history of Bradford... unbelievable.

I hope someone can pull a rabbit out of the hat at the eleventh hour but hope to Hell it aint got owt to do with that Chris Caisley. The guy is a tool and should be let nowhere near any Rugby club.

I'm sure many fans of other clubs have similar opinions of GH. If it needs to be Caisley let it be so, he has always been a fan of RL and whilst IMO he let the rivalry with Leeds and GH in particular get the better of him.

Caisley has always struck me as an egotistical knob who has more belief in his own abilities and self-image than business acumen (but then again he is a lawyer  ). He has a vested interest in the survival of the Bulls from a financial point of view and is only trying to protect his investment.

GH has only ever had the best interests of Leeds at his heart.

As you said though, if it is Caisley, so be it - I'd just rather it wasn't.

Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Re: potter has left the bulls : Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:31 am
Caisley is getting a ton of bad press and people are forgetting that he was at the helm when the Bulls were there strongest. he should get credit for that.

It's a good few years since he left and all he has been for the main time is a shareholder. He was not a decision make during the last four years when some disastrous and stupid financial decisions were made.

Yes, he signed Iestyn but, again, don't forget, Iestyn played in two Grand Finals for them and won one. Yes he fought the legal battle with us but, don't forget, it wasn't him that threw in the towel with that battle, it was Hood. We effectively "won" because of Hood's decision to capitulate but we will never know if we would have won had the Bulls continued to fight.

It wasn't Caisley that sold the leasehold to the RFl to clear a debt without realising it would create another liability for VAT and lead to the withdrawal of the overdraft facility. It wasn't Caisley who at the time of that stupid decision proclaimed it safeguarded the Bulls future. It wasn't caisley who a couple of months later asked his own fans to put £500,000 into an obviously insolvent company that was heading downhill on roller skates to an inevitable Administration.

As an outsider looking in I am not sure why Caisley is being painted as a villain. Of course, I could understand resentment that he jumped ship when he did but, you know what, I fully agreed with caisley's thoughts after the 2003 season. He put arguably the best Bradford team in history out and they had arguably their most successful season ever and the people of Bradford supported it in fewer numbers than before. Why should he remain at a club heading towards insolvency?

Support for a fellow legal eagle and attempt to blame others duly noted ;-)

On the whole you are right though.

Their return to Odsal season?

In 2003 Bradford were the best supported club in SL with an average home regular round attendance of 14,963 from a Bradford point of view that figure being second only to their 15,167 in the Championship winning 1997 season.

Re: potter has left the bulls : Thu Jul 05, 2012 12:17 pm
I think Caisley is copping flak for not riding to the rescue when there was still a club left to save, rather than picking the skin off the corpse.

Not saying it's right, but I can see that point of view.

At least we now know what a Grade B Super League franchise really smells like.

Toilet needs flushing.
