I specifically said stand off/right centre.
Gildley was good as is Shenton this season but he was pants at Saints.

Wheeler has been hampered which affected a fluidity to his form, but within his time those sporadic moments of form has been in the highest of order.
Over a course anyone could argue he has been disappointing. We have been saying such about Atkins Westwood Trent GOB and Myler throughout the season.
At times each have found a spark of brilliance.

All the players I've mentioned play right centre. It is at this point I feel obliged to point out he generally plays on the left side (inside Swift) as opposed to the right (inside Makinson) - putting in the proviso that the player must also play standoff is just narrowing it to a niche - Id still put Turner ahead of him.

Wheeler hampers himself, if he's not injured he's busy convincing himself he is. I hope you've got a great shrink for him!

if you're happy with 1 spark of decent play a year, then he's a good signing for you. I'd love for him to prove me wrong and fulfil his potential but I don't see it happening.

Ah, a contemporary view then.

Is he a centre or a stand off? If he's a centre then how can he be the makeweight for Burns? If he's a standoff how come you are lauding him as such an excellent centre? The truth is he has never played well at either.

If you really consider Gary Wheeler is a good signing then you are as deluded as I suspected and that's without your implied statement that he is better than Gidley. Good luck with your impending ridicule. You really deserve it.

Your misquoting me, I never said he was better than Gidley, I said for the 3rd time, IMO he has been the best centre/stand off in a Saints team since Lyon.

He isn't a centre in the purest of terms neither is Bridge or was Jiffy, Whittle, Blake and as I said earlier Jamie Lyon. I've seen Wheeler play to that standard. Whether he can hit form with it or face years of stick like Bridge is partly down to how bad he wants it and how long he can stay for enough to play at that level.

Yes I did make the error of saying he plays right side and as I recall he did play left.
Thanks

I must agree with the duck though Bridge is one of the best centres or half backs in the league & his consistency is beyond doubt.

He's not the only rough diamond in the world, I remember the same being said of Bridge when we signed him, this is an almost parallel signing. A bit broken, glimpses of good stuff but the collumn inches are more around injuries that anything else.

I must admit, I'm not convinced on his fitness, but that said, people convinced on Solomona's, Toa Kohe Love's in the second stint of for about 12 months, Adrian Morley's. People said (Warrington fans) good luck getting 10 games out of Morley, to Salford fans, they got 25, and he's got 10 years on Wheeler.

If we sign him then I will reserve my judgements of Wheeler until he has shown what he can do in a wire shirt. If he goes the season without injury interruptions it will just show the lengths that some players will go to in order to avoid pulling a stains shirt over their heads.

I will look forward to your posts about all things wire from your chat just a couple of days before release with mucho gusto. Even though that information was already out in the domain at that time being printed up in Scotland on black and white paper, it still didn't stop his words talking to your hand, good on you.

I'm so glad your information was much more creditable and didn't at all duplicate what others had said weeks and/or months before, or had it?
I'm sure your ex non wire player rugby chat didn't have this more creditable info passed upon him via what is said on RLFans anyway.

"superior rumours" Is that is another example of your grammar? So it is no longer a case of is it a rumour or is it not?? Next time I'm asked how big is a hole? I'll be sure to send you a post for the answer....
Doh!

Hi Rubber Duckie, I've tried once to explain but things seem to have gone awry, I replied to Morrissey admitting that the original post was poorly worded in truth I'm embarrassed, the RD domain and superior rumour part was meant to be tongue in cheek in fact it was bad judgement, in no way did I intend to insult, give sarcasm, offend you or anyone please accept my apologies.

As you will note I am a new poster unused to the way of things on here not yet able to work out how to use the smilies, so please understand that prior to registering I was unaware of anything on the forum only the usual tales around town, so while away in June when I was told Agar had signed it was news to me together with the Warrington had sorted out a half back for next year statement, what I failed to make clear on my disastrous post was that if Wheeler had/was signing then that would concur with the information I had been given, once again my apologies.

apologies are not necessary. welcome aboard the board and be prepared for more of the same.
It's like a ghetto on here, you find 3 or 4 forming an allied pack. Then like wolves they tear into your every word....
its all good fun really.
Just avoid direct insults and pretty much all else goes.

I didn't take any offence to what you said...I just gave some back.
it'll not take too long for you too see what's what.
Me I'm dammed if I post and dammed if I don't... ill go a week without posting ewt and still read posts referring to me.
