We actually looked a well-coached side for a good proportion of Saturday's game - in control of field position and able to build pressure. Some good individual performances and the Gower-Bailey combo looked good. But there ends the good news.
To my mind, it was the selection/use of players that was the major problem. 3 centres used - Lovell, JOC and Channing; 2 of those probably won't ever make it at centre, the third is a decent prospect but needs easing into an established playing structure. Like someone else said, the use of JOC at left centre made no sense when Howell was available. (Just on JOC - he has been appalling and he looks shorn of any belief. He could still be a good winger/FB but he needed taking out of first grade at least 12 games ago).
So, no surprises that we eventually get battered via the centre/3rd man in channels.
Re. forwards. I don't understand why Channing came on at right centre and Lovell got moved to left second-row when Gower left the pitch. Surely - surely - the sensible move would have been Bolger on and not Channing. Don't think Bolger got any game time. And I don't understand the (under-)use of Krasniqi. The kid comes on and makes a line break with his first carry and then hits the ball up a couple more times; about 8 minutes on and then off, not to reappear. He looked devastated when hauled off. The kid is a coach's dream. Runs hard, PTB quickly, mobile, aggressive defender. If I could be arsed, I'd pull up his stats and compare them with Bryant and Wheeldon - he makes more metres per carry and is a better defender than both. I don't get it.
EDIT: Haha. Just realised Bolger was 18th man. Still Bolger on the bench before Channing would have made more sense.
Makes 2 of us that don't get it! we had Leeds pinned down in their half for about the first 15-20 mins of the 2nd half, any other team would have got 2 or 3 scores in that time and got back on terms! But not us! We only score after Leeds gave us a gift with the pass to the invisible man that gave Dixon his try!Left at 12-40 , had seen enough but it became 12-44 while making a quick trip to the Gents on the way out and by the time we'd got out of the Stoop heard the cheers which must have meant another try! And yet we couldn't find a way through in spite of all that possesion / field position!

And there was i going to join in and back you up on my favourite bitch at RP
GF I asked you not to spout attendence figures because you are like a terrier with a bone. I may be wrong but I think it is the first time I have mentioned this to you. There is no getting away from it you go on and on and on about them. We all know how bad they are , we sit there looking around and wish it were different and we dont need you reminding us. You have some ideas which are really good and you talk a lot of sense at times but to me the constant attendence rally is boring - that's my opinion and we are each allowed an opinion as long as it is not hurtful or snide. However I am at a place where because I am bored of atendence figures I will skip them and I could possibly miss some of the good things you say.
I quite enjoyed showering Craig Gower with abuse while he was trudging up the sideline in defence after booting the ball away on the 3rd tackle when we were attacking the Leeds line. At least the silence in the stands means they can hear you at least...
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

1. WHat is best way to get bums on seats is it a continual shower of a team with no ambition, no effort and no iterest or a team who goes out and gives their all. My point, especially this year has been that they failed BEFORE we knew the team was crap...the forst 3 home attendances averaged 3,091.....less than Harlequins RL in 2011 2. Would an exciting game day attact more people than a dismal soul destroying day Yes.....but I repeat....the club totally failed...they thought the name change would see the hoardes return....it's almost like they belived Rupe1 3. Would this coach last in any other SL club - I personally dont think so but I could be wrong you probably have statisitcs about this. Bradford maybe 4. Why keep praising DH - I am first to agree his money has kept the club afloat and for that I will be eternally grateful but why would you give a two year contract to someone without any proven first team knowledge whatso ever I don't praise DH....I reckon he's a major part of the problem 5. Why would you continually admire DH for putting money in when he is the person who is helping RP kill the club - DH has final say on who stays and who goes and as RP is still here I suggest that means DH is happy with him. Ok he would have to pay him off but at this part of the season ask yourself which is best - losing a few grand on a coach now or losing a lot of money on fans walk up tickets and season tickets (not all long term fans have season tickets) - that could have a far longer lasting effect now the hard core fans are walking away DH is in charge at the club....Gus is litle more than his YES man.......not his fault, just the way it seems 6. If you were here for games would you be happy about being told there is a review taking place and weeks down the line the club is in even more dire straits. It was pi55 and wind when it was announced.....

Jaybs, Tre Cool, PC PLum, rosetintedspecs & Torbreck in this thread............I think that having a pop at me helps them take their minds off the fact that I am right and the club is in the shi77er.......I am happy to be of assistance
3 weeks 'til Wigan come a calling....just so we're clear about this, here are the ten lowest attendances for Wigan.......the average is 5,277 over 19 league games so far. 2007 = 3,200 1999 = 3,737 2009 = 3,883 2003 = 3,984 2006 = 4,115 2004 = 4,151 2002 = 4,284 2004 = 4,352 2000 = 4,351 2011 = 4,423
You just let us know when its ok for us to start getting annoyed with your pointless and endless marketing and attendance borefest then please. Thanks.
