If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

Just started watching Roosters v Bunnies on youtube and the pre-amble the Roosters coach says to w,in they have to "outwork" Souths.

Did we outwork Catalan? No. Not even close and like I say, you can be the better side on paper but if you don't work and try you will lose. And our lot didn't learn that all season.

I think we started off on the wrong note talking about the Play-Offs and not concentrating on winning the league before the season had even started - we hadn't earned the right to be having such thoughts and this came across as arrogance to me, not confidence. I think the Wigan win then fed the ego of many of the players.

I think this attitude was there to see throughout the season - it seemed we thought we only needed to be 80 or 90% against some teams and we could still win. We lost our work ethic because of this and never recovered it.

PA has had one excellent season and one poor season - he is a young coach and deserves another season at least to learn from his mistakes.

I wonder with some of the players whether those long terms deals we handed out also affected their attitude, the security replacing some hunger, but I think overall most of the players will come out stronger from this experience. They need to.

Biggest disappointment is the discipline.

We give cheap penalties away and cheap yards we then have to work harder all game.

Yesterday when we got our noses in front we gave them 3 penalties in a row which marched catalan downfield.
That cost us the game in the end.

Whether that is due to players being too stupid unfit or bad technique it needs sorting.
Being the 2nd most penalised team in SL tells a story.

That is a coaching issue

yes the long term deals help keep a settled side, which is why i think our chance to win silverware last year or this year was our best chance.

like you say the downside is sometimes the attitude changes and they get in the comfort zone... you can soon tell whos contract is soon up ..the performances usually stand out !
