I think we started off on the wrong note talking about the Play-Offs and not concentrating on winning the league before the season had even started - we hadn't earned the right to be having such thoughts and this came across as arrogance to me, not confidence. I think the Wigan win then fed the ego of many of the players.
I think this attitude was there to see throughout the season - it seemed we thought we only needed to be 80 or 90% against some teams and we could still win. We lost our work ethic because of this and never recovered it.
PA has had one excellent season and one poor season - he is a young coach and deserves another season at least to learn from his mistakes.
I wonder with some of the players whether those long terms deals we handed out also affected their attitude, the security replacing some hunger, but I think overall most of the players will come out stronger from this experience. They need to.
