Anyone know much about our new trainer? Hopefully he can give us an edge we've been missing for a few years.

Isn't he the current England conditioner? Sure he used to work for Wigan as well. Unless I'm thinking of someone else

Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

Re: Fitness & Conditioning : Tue Sep 23, 2014 8:02 pm
Gary Dempsey is the new Strength & Conditioning coach.

He's been part of the set up with England RL for a few years now. He has a background in Rugby Union having worked for SRU, Glasgow Hawks and Edinburgh. Not been involved with RL club rugby from what I know.

Also worked at the English Institute of Sport with the Athletics programme. Degree in Applied Sports Science, Masters in S&C.

Seems to be a big improvement on his predecessor having much more experience with professional sport. Think we've been lacking this kind of professional for some time so fingers crossed it works out.

Confucious he say, man without grass - he look forlorn.

One of our biggest losses in super league was Carl Jennings. He really had the players fit. Never been as fit since.

Agreed! Once went to a fans forum at which he spoke on a few issues..

The bloke had a charisma that made you want to listen to him - and he spoke a lot of sense.

Don't think he was ever replaced with an equal - which will be hard to do..

I think this persons job is the third most important - behind the owner and the coach!

Good point about him being the 3rd most important. Poor conditioning and Lowes might as well stay at home.
He must be decent with that CV.

Well we'll find out next season. I was interested that Lowes said he wanted to break the pre season into smaller distinct sections rather than one long slog leading up to the first game.

The big priority has to be us becoming stronger so we can dominate the collision. We've been dominated all too much in the past few years.

Not completely convinced there is one. Not in any kind of rugby anyway, or at least not that has passed my ears and eyes with the same regularity.

That said his post-Bulls career has consisted of following Matty Elliot from club to club. Canberra -> Penrith NZ Warriors.

There's no room for that fancy stuff in this game. It never did me any harm Crooksy.

Notice Carl Jennings has just parted company with the Warriors - just missed his chance to join the Great Bulls Revival.
