Peacock has 'been' a great player arguably the greatest player of the SL era but he hasn't been the best player in SL this year.
Even the most myopic of Leeds fans must be able to see that. This sympathy vote has prevented the deserving winner from collecting what is due.
If he wins MOS that will be an even greater travesty.
Of his 9 seasons at Leeds, 2014 has certainly been his least effective. If he is awarded MoS, it can only be a sympathy vote taking into account performances and heroics from past seasons.
How ironic that Leeds players are currently being showered with individual honours, medals and sundry Super League dream team spots during a period for the team which is best described as mediocre. They couldn't buy any when they were a more successful and gifted team.
Any Leeds player who even barely manages to perform to an acceptable international standard down under during the 4N tournament will surely be a candidate for the Golden Boot in January.
