Just to be clear, the Hakas are nothing to do with Rugby Union. They are traditional to teh countries, and there are various types. A couple of years ago the Kiwis said the traditional New Zealand Haka is actually a victory dance and wasn't really appropriate for a prematch Haka
Either way, I think it is a great traditiona nd has added extra colour and excitement to the world cup.
Sad preacher nailed upon the coloured door of time;
Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.
There'll be no mutant enemy we shall certify;
Political ends, as sad remains, will die.
I've seen most of the teams do their Haka live at the 2008 WC or at other games, and i'd say the Cook Islands have easily the best Haka, but the most impressive pre game ritual goes to the Fiji prayer/hymn IMO.
Have to agree with this after seeing it live at Wembley yesterday.
The key thing was their voices were very good.
Having had some choir singing before (pretty averagely) it was amazing to hear some tuneful voices with no musical backing singing a hymn beautifully. The togetherness, emotion and enjoyment amongst the players was great....really impressive IMO.
