Just got this off the Wire RL forum

Salford Red Devils: 4,738 (3,178) - 2013 in brackets

If we carry on we could average around 6k mark for next season which is a step in the right directon.

I'm sick of hearing it.

He added: "I cannot continue to work with a 3,000 gate. The club needs 6,000 or 7,000 as I've always said I want to build a club that can financially sustain itself.

When does he realise we wont achieve consistent gates of 6/7k until the team put in consistent performances too? It really is simple, successful Salford = decent crowds. We've seen enough evidence to suggest the interest is there.

How long til the inevitable Manchester name change is mooted? With the constant references to how Salford can't attract fans, playing games around the Greater Manchester area and the removal of the word Salford from any club merchandise it seems to be getting closer.

Could be the first big decision for the new fans panel.

The Dr does show a feel for heritage and history, The Spirit of 1934 across the team shirt,and at the Irlam meeting last winter,he was keen to know about William Webb Ellis being born in Salford.
I hope he maintains the desire to remain Salford,because I believe any attempt to change would be a BIG mistake.

A double decker 67 at the end of the match would help.
This is a serious comment: sending a single decker means issues in getting home to anyone dependant on public transport that night.

I read it more as a veiled threat to the SMC than a criticism of those not turning up.

Exactly, what I do find odd is that not one official mention anywhere that the access roads are months and months behind schedule, in my mind what will be the biggest part of the new road system (IE the bridge over the canal) hasn't even started to be constructed.

Doubt the issues of getting fans into and out of the stadium will change in any significant way until this is all 100% finished.

God to have had the Doc in charge when the new stadium was being planned, pretty sure a site like Ladywell would have been more favourably considered.

this is coming within and seems the likely way forward if you don't venture to the new stadium, be a shame to lose the name Salford
