Let's be fair, any credible, globally succesful British band of the last 40 years, wouldn't have been seen dead performing in front of the Royals and a load of middle Englanders, whose idea of 'good' music is Gary Barlow and Elton John.
Yes, we could have had the Stones, Pink Floyd, Morrissey/The Smiths, Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Prodigy, etc, but they would have died in that environment, in front of that audience.
