signed. If theres evidence others broke the rules why arent the RFL testing that evidence by punishing those clubs, then appointing the same members to the appeal tribunal that would be bound to follow. if they approved the appeal they would then have to rescind their previous decision, if they upheld the punishment they would have to rescind their previous decision. But no doubt there's special circumstances that allow the RFL to do what they want and *** to being fair. A cheats charter.
If i understand it right, last season loads of clubs broke the rules, but we cant really punish them now can we ? so the rfl have said because we cant punish them,we cant really punish clubs who have done the same this season,so they've given donny and batley there points back
Tbf it is hardly all Keighley fans, even if they do have some Premier league assholes which do seem to send us their occasional wishes as above.
But ultimately what has happened to them is fairly typical. Complete and utter ballsup, followed by on-the-hoof fag-packet swerve and reverse, accompanied by absolutely no worthwhile explanation, and a brazen bluff-it silence in the knowledge that it's tomorrow's chip papers, and they will surely get away with it, like they got away with everything in our case and in many previous cases involving others and other issues.
They have no shame, no sense of embarrassment, and feel absolutely no need whatsoever to account to the fans for their actions, however bizarre.
There'll be other lessons too, first that many talk a good game, but a much smaller proportion ever bother to actually do anything, even sign a petition. And finally that it'll just be a total waste of time, as it will achieve nothing, except to show the RFL that only a tiny proportion of RL fans are even bothered to sign up.
Only a court case would potentially achieve anything, but they all tend to fizzle out into damp squibs, so I'm afraid unless the Cougars put up the money to take the fight to court, they might as well move on in the time-honoured way their trolls regularly encourage us to do.
Unlikely that the majority of Bulls fans, would feel so vindictive towards the Cougars being relegated. To be honest the whole structure of the way the Bonus points have taken away the right of the teams is wrong IMO.Those teams who have won the most games to be below teams in the league simply because they have lost games by less than 12 points, thus not earning an extra bonus point because of it. In Keighley's case it so happened they won 12 games which was the same as Whitehaven and Batley (after restoration of the 3 deducted points) but the 1 draw was the difference. It's a great shame that a team that suffered the loss of it's player coach for a month, courtesy of the judiciary panel at the RFL, at probably a critical time in the season is being placed in the near amateur ranks of a lower division. Let's hope they can survive it all? Like you I believe a petition will be a waste of time, as they unfortunately could not say that Batley would have replaced them as relegated, if the status had remained, ie that a point deduction hadn't been made in the first instance. Keighley would still be a point adrift due to the fact Batley had drawn a game which Keighley hadn't. Harsh isn't the word for the farcical situation the RFL have created for the whole game.
The role need a rocket. It's about time the whole game was run in a professional manner. It makes me sick that our sports been left in the hands of a team of tozzers. It really needs a shake up.

Why cannot the RFL punish them now? points clearly irrelevant as the season is gone, so it would need to be a fine, ban on signing any new players or similar.

It can. There is no reason I can think of why a punishment HAS to be in the same season. In the case of administrations (where we have some expertise) the rule already states that if you go tits in the close season then the deduction will be for the new season.
If a player is cited to the disciplinary for serious foul play, after the last game of the season finishes, he will still be banned. His ban will start in the next season.
Logically, the argument that the alleged infringements occurred in a previous season is just a smoke and mirrors excuse, and a pisspoor one at that. And that doesn't even address the bizarre precedent which now seems to be that any club breaking the same rule in the future can't, for the same reasons, ever be punished.
Just a reminder of the attitude of some Keighley fans when we were going through our troubles….

I for one will laugh myself silly if they get relegated, there arrogance while looking down from there lofty heights over the years has left a very bitter taste. The Cougars have gone bust been relegated, promoted gone bust again relegated again and so on it called Sport, we may get relegated again this season who knows, but that's Sport if in proffesional or semi professional sport your not good enough and you don't have the funds then 'bye bye' welcome to our world Dulls its a long way back!

So if the Dulls go into administration again, lets say in the closed season then they will have further points deducted, perhaps as many as nine depending whether we have bonus points next year ................. As DB would say "lovely jubbly"!

The Dulls clearly think they have a divine right to SL. If there is a God, shirley he or she will put the final nail in the coffin and dismiss the appeal and also charge so much in fees that they go bust again and go to hell. Not that I'm bitter or anything you understand.
Unfortunately there weren’t as many voices of moderation but here’s one that seemed to be outnumbered.

Feel free to abuse / insult me but I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Francis Cummins and more importantly the Bulls Fans .They've been let down dramatically by complete incompetence from those who hold the power.
The Ownership Saga at Odsal has been a joke from start to finish and Cummins and the Supporters are now the one to suffer ,the RFL aren't without blame either and I hope they chase Omar Khan and his lackies down for every bit of that 905 thousand they owe.
One of the Bulls Fans posted this on RL fans earlier today and you really cant argue with his sentiments... 'The 'suffering' does not relate solely to performances on the field, it's more the off the field soap opera [incompetence, lying, false dawns, utter shambles really] which wears you down over time. I have developed a certain amount of 'Bulls fatigue' the past 2 years or so. Following your team should be fun, a pleasant distraction from the daily grind regardless of whether you win, lose or draw. The Bulls have been emotionally draining to the extent I think 'is it really worth the angst any more?'. There is enough seriousness in my life as it is without the Bulls occupying some of that territory as well.'
As Keighley supporters I think we've all thought that way over the years and I've every sympathy for the Bulls fans now
BUT it really doesn't extend to local Derbies next year and bragging rights to the Cougars and TBH a teeny bit of p** taking at the demise of our nearest rivals ..
Well, I forgive them Bullseye, for they know not what they say.
It's all part of following sports teams anyway - when in doubt give your nearest and 'dearest' a good metaphorical kicking and, of course, a message board is the safest place to do it as the worst that can happen is that you get some metaphorical sand in your face.
As I've said before many times, in my opinion all fans are much of a muchness; we're all biased, and think the world is against us and tend to reserve a special dislike for our nearest neighbour clubs. My problem is that I meet quite a few fans from many clubs and, one on one in conversation, it's pretty clear that there is much more which binds us together as RL fans than can ever separate us.
I know a few Cougars. I don't know what they say in the confines of the bar at Cougar Park.....? but they are generally a sensible lot. Like most fans to be honest and, not withstanding our own problems, I think you tend to feel for people in their situation. In any case, I'm [whilst defintely not wanting to come over all George Osborneish] feeling that we're on the road to recovery, so can be magnanimous.
