Yes. that was quite telling. And his constant referral to things being more difficult in London, FFS there are positives too !!
The biggest being that an individual has pumped colossal amounts of his own personal money into a club we love - granted not always wisely - and continues to do so. None of us could or would do it, apparently not many other people would.
The only hope is if News International takes over and sinks its money into London, as it did with Melbourne, and makes it a success, before selling it.
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

Joking aside there was one interesting moment when TOC asked DH what he'd say to someone to encourage them to come to a game and he was completely stumped. Spoke volumes.
Well what could he say, in London, other than League being better to watch, what else is there.....?
A bit of passion? London being the local team, it's us against the north, next year will be a successful London side and will be a great day out with great people, the great game and the unique atmosphere of watching an RL game.

I genuinely think he believes that fans should gratefully.flock to.watch HIS team play.........it is frightening to think of the.cash he has flushed away.over the.years

Yep, he certainly does have the "Build it and they'll come mentality" though, in his case it was "Buy it and they'll come".
Though, all jokes aside, without his money, when Lennaghan walked, we'd have been up shi-ite creek with no paddle!!!!
first up, lenegan didn't walk.....the RFL pushed him. the sports cafe continued to sponsor us paying considerably more than selco do......he would have happlily continued to back us if the RFL hadn't been so narrow minded. Next up, I actually think we'd now be better off if Hughes had told the RFL that he wasnt prepared to pay for all their expansion and that they had to find someone else or we'd fold......they found the cash for bradford, they found the Dr for Salford....no way they would have let us fold as a direct result of their narrow mindedness.
Hughes is no saint.....his heart may well be in the right place but he really doesn't have a clue when it comes to running a sports club.

Lenagan chose to run Wigan instead of us so he did walk.
I agree on Hughes but hopefully his efforts to purchase a 20 yr lease at the Hive is the first step in seeing the error of his ways. It's a shame we had to lose nearly all of our fanbase in the process though.
