Bit more mentioned in the weeks RL press.

Michael Steele mentions again that Fax have received a number of applications from home and a couple from down under and they were pleased with the quality of those putting their hats into the ring.
MS would not reveal who they were but stated the names would be well known.

Today they would be considering these and narrowing it down to those to be interviewed which would follow soon after and it would be highly likely that Scott Murrell would have some roll to play in the new coaching setup.

I think Scott will go back to captain and away from the coaching setup unless they want to gradually breed him into a coach 5 / 6 years down the line?

Given other teams have been chasing Murrell with a view to including him on their coaching set ups I would think one of the stipulations for the new coach would be to do the same. Im not sure if it will be in an assistant capacity but I would expect him to have some role afterall hes probably the best rugby brain we have had at the club in at least a decade.

I just hope they go through the whole interview process with a lot of people involved and do not bow to the pressure of one or two people like happened in the last appointment.

Harrison was appointed without interviewing anyone else by I believe Croad and Abbott. I hope the same mistake is not made this time and they interview everyone with more people involved to make sure they get the right man. The club can not afford another cock up like last time.

I agree with GFB's, and i'll add my two penneth on the new coach.

Firstly, they're gonna have to work with almost all of the current & new signings that are in place, I can't see there being much scope for other new signings if any.
Secondly, it had better be someone of some kind of experience because competing against three or four full time squads will be devastating & i can see some massive blow-out scores on the horizon. The in-coming coach needs to have balls of steel, it aint gonna be an easy job, next season will be such an uneven competition i think.
