Not as inexcusable as the backing KH gets from the BOD.... When will someone wake up and smell the coffee? I'd rather watch a team of triers, coached and hungry than the dross we currently see.... Budgets, weather and training facilities all part of the endless drivel of excuses the guy spouts.... You could put a team through a decent training session on the moor if needed.... Other sides over the years had the same issues....
I do some coaching for a premier league football club who have spent 100s of millions on a training ground and believe me their rise to success coincides with the improvement in training facilities. They also attract a better quality of player. You won't improve as a player and perform if your needs aren't met where you spend most of your time at the club.
The training facility story, if true, is a shambles, needs sorting and will inhibit our improvement on the pitch and the recruitment of better players
[quote="freddies wig"]Can't see Man Utd training on a moor can you?

I think you've been reading too many of those Vince Lombardi quotes that Arkwright used to have in the club shop. To bemoan the lack of training facilities at this stage of the season is weak.
We've managed in the last decade or so.... To even compare this with premier league football is ridiculous.... Halifax Town play in a league which is high profile, they have the same issues yet look where they are....
Don't be so flippant as ever. I wasn't comparing Fax to premier league and you know it. I was merely saying no training facilities is a valid excuse for a few things that could be wrong at the club. At the very least it sends out a poor message about ambition. Would you sign for a club like that?
The clubs outperforming us have better facilities appear more ambitious and are more consistent.
If what Karl says about training facilities is true it's mickey poor and needs sorting and in this area I feel for him. This club is finding its level at the moment and not just through Karl's coaching.
Can't see Man Utd training on the moor can you..... If that's not comparing us excuse my flippancy.....!
The training facilities have been a constant issue for every coach since we left Thrum Hall... KH is the only one to make an excuse out of it as he does the weather etc, etc...
We've also not struggled to sign players either due to facilities....finances are more of a concern.....
The " no urgency " was there for all to see in the dyeing minutes of the Fev` game , players stood about while a scrum was being made , fans were screaming at the players to join the scrum as they could have tried for a bonus point .Some players just stood about for ages , didn`t this happen twice as well I just felt that was inexcusable to be honest.
Happened throughout the whole of the game. My mates and I were discussing the obvious lack of urgency, particularly to get a scrum formed, in the 'fax team long before halftime.
The clock on the scoreboard yesterday appeared to be the "real" game-time one. Several times, the clock kept on running when the ref had put his hands up to stop it. It didn't matter in the end, but I'd say that the second half (I didn't notice it in the first half) was at least 2-3 minutes short of the full 40 as a result. One stoppage in particular (when one of the players was injured) was over a minute with the clock still running. This also happened (not every time) when scrums had formed and the clock still carry on running.

We make a point of saying that the clock doesn't reflect the actual time remaining, and as such, shouldn't be taken for granted. The guys in the booth (who run the PA, Music, Scoreboard as well as various other things) were a man down yesterday, so things like this can happen.
John it was good to see you again though I do understand your frustration at Fax as a Team , I watched the game with a Nuetral view ,and thought Fax didn't have the urgency in their play , for the first half , then after getting back into the Game they allowed Donny and in particular Cooke to work a few moves , run in open play , and then win the game , I wouldn't blame ref Joe Cobb either , the Fax fans were calling offside a lot , but he was the same for both teams , I thought your Halves had quiet games and the Forwards didn't boss the game , although Tonks ran very hard .
It was also nice to see Bentleyman , who took me on a route march round Donny , we seemed to walk further than the Jarrow marchers , and nice to meet Hudd-Shay and Mrs Hudd-Shay and a few other great Fax fans , and a few other familiar faces in the Stand .John as you keep saying it aint over yet , but I feel Fax will have to improve to go anywhere in the play-offs .Charlie knows , even if Hudd - Shay says I know nowt .
Charlie knows the way from the Corner Pin to the Keepmoat. That'll do me!
