WHAT IF the club had gone with the consensous of opinion within the Rugby League world (especially the media) and kept hold of Cummins?

The comments from the players point to a problem when he was here and a change in atmosphere within the camp now Jimmy is in charge.

I don't think that can be overlooked.

I think the vast majority were simply looking at a situation where a bloke , who had shown great loyalty - way beyond the call of any duty - then got sacked when the goings on got a bit easier.

To be straight about this, I also feel awful about what happened to a thoroughly decent bloke like Franny Cummins; I also feel events have shown that, from the club's POV, it was the correct decision. At the end of the day it was a 'business' decision and, in many ways only too typical in a sporting world where coaches and managers sometimes don't even make the first game of the season before being fired. At least the few wins have stopped Stevo in his tracks, with his rant about "it hasn't made things any better".

Ha ha, where did that one come from! Actually, Stu was also okay to be fair, I remember him coming to Odsal to give a talk and do a Q and A session with fans - quite brave of him, I thought. Anyway, must dash, I've got some editing to do.....

He would have worked miracles. The Bulls would have finished in 4th position and a new stadium would already be under construction.

Jimmy has brought a lot to our game and training has been harder with a real intensity to it.

We are showing that intensity in games – when someone makes a break, we've got five or six players chasing back ready to go.

It was a good team performance on Sunday. We got off to a sloppy start but we came out strongly in the second half and got a great win.

We've always had a good team here and we will never know where we might be if Jimmy had come in earlier.

He has definitely changed something about us and we are playing well, which bodes well for the rest of this season and, indeed, next season.

The players keep saying it.

Lowes seems to have regenerated the club, however could it be linked to the court case cave in. I think the club just kept the saga going and it rubbed off on the players and coach. Cummins looked wrecked and showed the club the greatest respect and loyalty .

With the turmoil swirling round the club during his tenure I think like most fans I appreciated that Franny did not just walk away, and he behaved with loyalty and professionalism, though you could see the burden was getting to him in the end from some of his statements. However it's clear that in his main role of preparing the team for the job on the pitch and getting them to play to the best of their abilities he wasn't succeeding and for me this main difference to the new "Jimmy" era. It seems Lowes is also setting out and selling his vision for the future to the players and as we have seen they are buying in to this which will help us assemble a squad for the promotion challenge next year.

Mildly interesting that a bloke, only signed on loan until the end of the season [to the best of everyone's knowledge], mentions the positive effects for next season...? Bag, of, the cat, out, let, someone?

Maybe he has found the grass really is "Greener" at the Bulls?
