Yes, he's been culpable for some conceded tries but I stand by my judgement that our wide defensive limitations are due to our second rowers not sliding and our centres jammining in.

Every single coach has noticed that and exploited it for the last two years.

Despite playing less games, half way through the season he was way and above our top try scorer, I haven't analysed the statistics but minutes on the pitch to points scored, he' way up there.

He's an intelligent lad, I hope he can combine what will probably be a successful career off the pitch with staying in RL, but if he's got any sense and an agent worth his money he should be looking at Union.

We've missed one here.

Put the lad in a bit of space and every chance he will score you a try as his record says, but he has a basic inability to catch the ball, and seems incredibly stiff, slow to turn and change direction and gets skinned too often. As you say an intelligent lad and very articulate and maybe in a lower level would be successful,I hope so,good luck to him.

He was a player I wished had succeeded but I agree with Dudley once he'd made a mistake he never seemed to recover I see him playing union myself

I agree in part on the defensive lapses of the system with the inability of the team to slide across and the centre to panic and leave his position jumping out the line or moving in field, That however doesn't make up for the many fumbles when he's had to deal with grubbers the high balls dropped and getting beat by smaller wingers in the air. That thrown in with a distinct lack of bottlewhen approaching the line which was evident at Salford last year. Some critism is warranted and for me Caro has brought alot on himself. If you only had to attack we'd have a world beater but unfortunately for Caro there is more to RL then just been able to run fast, Something Caro hasn't even managed at times.

People who wouldn't dare pull on a shirt will now comment on this thread.

I've played the greatest game so I guess I'm allowed to comment they ehhh.................What a ridiculous statement to make. People don't need to have played Rugby League to have an opinion on a player of the club they support. These forums would be alot quiter if that was the case.

If we dont land our final outside back target, I'd keep him. I do think 2-3 years at a lower level would be really good for his development.

I assume what Sandra was getting at was the ridiculous opinions he was some sort of coward after he didn't go for the line at Salford last season.
To my mind this is a criticism that can't be levelled at anyone who plays pro rugby league, or any decent level for that matter. Rather than a lack of bottle I feel it was that same lack of confidence, that made him hesitate and not take chances he maybe should have.

Re: Omari Caro : Wed Aug 20, 2014 12:38 pm
I do wonder 'what if' his hesitation @ Salford never happened (or at least wasn't on tv). Up to that point he'd been alright with plenty of promise. He made some bad errors I recall earlier on in that game but ever since the hesitation I don't think anyone forgot it and he was forever tarred with the 'coward' tag. Every error he made was always met with the same derision other players seem to escape from.

That being said, there are better wingers than Caro. He hasn't really improved in my view. The same fragile player who we all wish was as good as his physique suggests he could be. I don't even think his 'blistering pace' is still there tbh either.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Re: Omari Caro : Wed Aug 20, 2014 8:26 pm
My tablet's proving no fun to play with as far as quoting goes, but in reply to Young Master Easty:

I think Caro has been a scapegoat.

So many times I've heard unjustified criticism of him.

I don't think he can or should remain at the club (and I actually don't think he's good enough to secure a starting berth) I just think he should have been developed better.

Sandercock's remit was to bring players on and we recruited a raw talent in Caro, the fact that this has failed, I don''t think is just his fault.

As to your last point about me saying people who haven't played TGG, Mr. Dudley is partly correct, but then, would you expect more than "a ridiculous statement" from me?
