You Normy boys!

I suppose if Saints lose on Thursday, we can turn up en masse to enjoy the burst of the bubble!

I know, I know, but that's how it is in Normy!

What do people think?

Saints have two very losable games (Warrington and Huddersfield). Cas have us and Catalan away. Points difference is about the same, and if Cas win both and Saints lose theirs, they'll make it up.

Hell of an achievement if they do it. And it's doable.

My own view is that Cas are the only team these to have been consistently good. Saints haven't been good at all, for a team at the top.

Cas wont finish top and the top 4 is no certainty.
It would be great to spoil their party IF we could get a result there next week.

Come on Trin !

Absolutely spot on, but I just can't get giddy about Cas doing well, the other way round and we'd be covered in bile and spit, they have no love for us, sorry no fairy tail here, as of yet they've won the same as us, funk all! Yeah very juvenile I know, but that's how I feel at the moment.

No love for Cas from here either, I've seen and heard too many bitter insults over the years to change my ways. Saints to win the league and Cas to get knocked out in the early stages of the playoffs for me I'm afraid.

Ditto.

To wish Cas any form of success is madness. I accept they have done well but that's all they get from me.

This. I could just imagine the general feeling from over the Common if the roles were reversed.

The only thing it does is gives us hope, that with a good Coach (which we seem to have) and a few good players you can spoil the usual party at the top end of SL.

Saying all that, they've played some great rugby this season and will deserve whatever they get.

It's hard to resent Cas - they deserve the success they've had this season and they've been one of the most attractive teams in SL to watch. They'll have a job on maintaining it next season with key players on the way out, but Powell has been a revelation - if anyone can, he can.

Agree with everything you say there Bren but i think this year more than ever its been proved how much difference a good coach makes. Powell at Cas, Webbo at Trin and Jimmy Lowes at Dulls have all made great improvements. The last two with basically the same players as the previous coaches

Cas have enjoyed a fantastic seaon - we would kill for it and I congratulate them on it.

For me, the love-in relationship - highlighted this Sunday with most of the power base of WMDC at the ground - with the council is just too much - until they stump up over either NM or BV.

I want us to win on Sunday a) because it could possibly keep the top 8 alive going into the last weekend and b) because we love to hate them - its what locally rivalry is about and I want that memory to take us through the off season! 8)

agreed.
and c) because it'll probably sell a few more season tickets

Them finishing 1st and us finishing 8th are mutually exclusive, but similar probability. Win both games and the rival team lose both theirs, plus make up some points difference.

The question is: who wants it most??

It's a must win for Cas. Not just to finish top but to finish second too. If you beat us, Huddersield will leap frog us and also either Wigan or Leeds. With a loss the highest we can finish will be 4th. With a loss at Catalan too we will finish 6th.

So we won't be resting any players. Our best/non injured 17 will be playing.

Should be a very large crowd Sunday with it being local derby, us going for top, you going for play offs and final home game of the season. (Will get a home play off tie definitely) looking forward to it.
