Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

In terms of what we saw in a Leeds shirt Diskins best was better than Buderus'.

Morley left in 2000, so I can't see him getting a place. And was 2nd row in our team. Not sure who would get in as last prop. It would be Bailey by default, or we could put a different forward, such as Ablett or Poching.

All others are in with a shout, but I'm 50-50 on Calderwood vs Donald

Agree on all points and whilst not wanting to open the debate it's about opinion and in mine Diskin's 2004 was better than any season Buderus had with us, as good as he was in 2010.

For the same reason you discount Morley I swap Harris with Webb (and in a season or two maybe Hardaker for both). Harris' best years with us were 1998 and 1999.

I'm ignoring the bench so would go
1. Webb
2. Donald
3, Watkins
4, Senior
5. Hall
6, McGuire
7. Burrow
8. Kylie
9. Diskin
10. Peacock
11. Lautiti
12. Ellis
13. Sinfield

If we're talking about their performances for Leeds, did Morley ever play prop in his time with us?

Morley started 115 times for Leeds +15 from the bench (I have them all in the back-row but would stress starting positions are unofficial.)

Morley was a great player. As was Harris. But on net contribution this millennium, I leave both out.

Webb
Donald
Watkins
Senior
Hall

McGuire
Burrow

Leuluai
Diskin
Peacock
Lauititi
JJB
Sinfield

Bailey
Ablett
McDermott
Ellis

Probably made a silly omission there somewhere. Would like to include Dave Furner, but ran out of back row space. Better player than some in here, but judged on overall contribution.

I was close with Harris, But was still at Leeds for a while longer than Morley. He was the man that Leeds built a team around though. It's a tough one.

Re Buderus vs Diskin I see it this way.

Buderus peak vs Diskin peak = Buderus win
Diskin vs Buderus in their spells at Leeds I'd say Diskin

Cannot comprehend anybody choosing Diskin over Buderus other than through sentimentality :D Buderus was real class and had all the attributes for a complete effective hooker me: his passing out of DH was sublime and accurate.

Hardaker - yep I rate him that highly already
Hall
Watkins
Senior
Donald - better outside Senior; Hall doesn't need the space that Senior provides.

McGuire
Burrow

Leuluai
Buderus
Peacock
Ellis
JJB
Sinfield

Ablett
Lauititi - better as impact sub
McDermott
Morley

Nantwiche -Eagle sums up the Diskin/Buderus debate perfectly!
Just to add I don't see how if we are counting from 2000 onwards that Harris & Morley get in any side were they really that good in that short time period before departing?

We really going to do this? ;-)

You just need a slight correction to your formula.

Buderus LEEDS peak vs Diskin Leeds peak = Diskin win

I'm not judging it on anything Buderus did in his career elsewhere, solely his Leeds career.

People quickly forget how good Diskin was in that 2004 season, far better than Buderus was in his excellent 2010 season. Diskin was Leeds player of the year in a steamroller team that won the LLS and the GF. He went on to win the Harry Sunderland and gain deserved international recognition.

That is purely objective recollection. Yeah he wasn't quite as "sexy" or exotic as the Aussie captain but I can't help that other fans look at Antipodeans with googly eyes.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

We will never agree but there is no substitute for class - Buderus is one of if not the best hooker of the modern professional era. He was a complete player, he upped his game in 2010 and produced performances every bit as good as Diskin did in 2004.

The tragedy was the injury to Diskin - he was never the same player after that.

Oh good. A Diskin/Buderus debate. It's been a while.
