Everyone who signs for a club including Wakey says they like what the coach had to say about the place and their plans. I'm just wondering, when trying to attract players to this club, how would you sell it to them? Would you talk about history, would you talk about winning things? Would you be 100% truthful? Or does it all come down to money?

I would tell them a little about the history but mostly about the community and the team spirit within the team. I would talk about the untapped potential of the club and the city and I would show how we have over achieved compared to the financial position of the club.
I'd show examples of: players that have arrived as broken, unwanted players and left as good players; I'd show examples of players jumping on each other and the crowd reaction when we beat the supposed bigger teams; and I'd show examples of our best games where we have shown some attractive rugby.

I can remember Kirk Dixon signing for Cas (about 8 years ago) and saying it was the new stadium at GH that persuaded him to sign. It was his statement that convinced me that it would happen.

It's boring reading statements regarding new signings, they all say the same thing. End of the day it's down to how much money the player can get.

Ha. He scored his first of the season so no naked run! I honestly thought at the start of the season this team could get top 8 and if the coach had changed earlier who knows. What I do know is tgat webbo had the team playing really well and that with a full off season together and everyone fit, not many teams will see Wakey as a soft touch.

I thought Andy Raleigh was superb today, very rarely lost the collision and made good yards despite 2 or 3 defenders. Great finish for his try, not just the 30metre run but the fact that he was there supporting on the inside to take the pass. I haven't counted but he also seemed to play a lot of minutes today.
