Its Harsh but I ask myself would whiting have ever got into saints Leeds Wigan or the giants teams in the last 4 years I very much doubt it time to move on shame if Ben departs one for the future and could come back to bite us but if he wants away why develop him further interesting news on our new half below
above looks good news for us hopefully price will be well rested and chopping at the bit next year
I reckon he would, ok this season he has been disappointing, but he hasn't be given a fair run in the backrow this year. The previous years he has been very good for us and that's will him being moved about again.
There has been forwards regularly in each of those teams over the last few years who aren't as good as Whiting IMO.

Whiting is a good solid squad player and can cover numerous positions but is not top draw in any of them I suppose it depends on what he is earning and how you want your squad to look and cap space good servant all the same but as another poster said there no room for sentiment in sport

I just wish many of those we're going with next year had even half of Whiting's football brain
could'nt agree more.although he has'nt been as good as previous seasons i think the fact were third from bottom shows apart from westerman and ellis no one has been.he's been playing at centre,a position we never use properly with lack of fast/quality ball.i still feel theres a place for rich at f.c.rich is one player i feel deserves a crack in the coaching set up.if tusan and horne i deemed good enough he surely must be.i'm struggling to think of a player (apart from cooke) who has a better rugby brain play for us in the last 10yrs.
Well he certainly isn't going anywhere, he has said so himself on twitter, let's hope he is fit for next season and gets some game time in the backrow.

I remember watching the game when we mullered Leeds at the KC a couplke of years ago. Whiting was named as off-half, although he hardly spent any time in that position. Burrows (IIRC) had just received the ball and Whiting ripped it out of his hands (backwards), we picked the ball up, it went through another couple of hands and we scored (again).
Leeds appealed to the ref, he referred it upstairs and he came back with T-R-Y
I don't think we've got anyone else that can think like him.
He reminds me (now), of when we got John Newlove. Newlove was obviously past his best and had lost his pace but he didn't need it, all he needed was young legs running off him. Mind you, when we had John Newlove, we also had a coach who knew how to usae players to the best of their abilities

Agreed. Mini, Ellis and Westerman will be back 3, but if Sa is played at centre we need a solid squad player behind them and Hadley. Assuming Ellis stays backrow. Otherwise we need Whiting even more.
Think he's known himself that centre isn't really an option for him any more hence stating clearly he wants to play back row for the last couple of years. I doubt he would have played much had either Sa been fit enough or Crooks not spat his dummy. It's a shame that we haven't had another young centre on the books ready to step in. Been a weak position for us for a long time on both sides in my opinion. After the half back role (hopefully sorted) it's been our next biggest problem.

I don't get this Sa not been fit enough How much more time does he need? Didn't take Talanoa that long to get some match fitness after been out of the game for a long period. Either its another Radford don't know what im doing job or there is a lot more to it.
